For your playing pleasure!
The ilovebees text adventure game "Axon Hunter"!

its like the Hitchhiker's Guide game from the 80's, only not!

instructions download the zip file:
http://coffeejedi.darkimage.net/axonhunter.zip

put the files in "My Documents" or wherever
install Quest by running the quest353.exe file
launch quest from your start menu or desktop
open the axonhunter.asl game file from wherever you put it]

Enjoy!

There's also a fair amount of in jokes in the game, so try various things.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You have to use every single thing on that table somehow...

(By the way, there seems to be a bug in which you are advised that the GPS unit's arrow is pointing in a certain direction after you leave the store -- that is, after you do a certain something in the store and then leave the store -- even if you don't actually have the GPS unit in your possession. It doesn't affect gameplay, because you still can't move forward without the GPS unit, but it's still a minor bug worth reporting. Maybe you're not supposed to be able to do that certain something unless you have the GPS unit?)

I've managed to answer the phone, but have not yet been able to save the Sleeping Princess from Melissa. Maybe I'll work on it some more today.

----- o -----

Edit: Woohoo!

Axon Hunter wrote:
Your cellphone rings a few seconds later. "Hello?"
"Thank you so much!!!" squeals the princess.
"You're very welcome" you reply.
"I'm going to try to find a way to go home now! I love you!!!!"
*click*

You head home satisfied, a few days later, our heroes storm Chawla and... well, you know the rest. You are officially a hero! Everyone loves you.

THE END

...and, moments later:

Axon Hunter wrote:

"Excellent work crewmember, I have captured her once and for all, she won't cause a problem again. Good job."
*click*
The pit of your stomach aches. Dejected, you go home.
You get a call a bit later on your cell phone. Apparently the Sleeping Princess is dead, and the mission at Chawla Base has failed. Everyone is extremely mad at you for not enhottenating your axon, even Weephun, who thought about giving you some sympathy, but decided that this is inexcusable.

Game Over.

Repeatedly. I guess that particular timer keeps running even after one "wins." Mr. Green

(Might as well make it an even three bug reports: You can answer the payphone even if you don't -- well, you know, do what you're supposed to do before you can get to the payphone.)

----- o -----
Subsequent edit: And maybe next time I'll remember that CoffeeJedi specifically said that discussion should go in another thread. Time to download the bug-fixed version...
