[UPDATE] May 28

I didn't see this posted. Ian and Nisha chat via IRC. It's not great, but at least they know they have some issues to deal with.

Btw - the interview with Virgil was on this weeks VH1 Top 20 countdown. I'll see if I can work on getting a transcript up (sorry, don't have video capture on this puter).

It's not quite as funny as the fancam interview - but it does have it's moments.

Here it is - the transcript!
Quote:
B: Hey everyone. You are watching VH1's Top 20 Video Countdown. My name is Bradford How. This week we are coming to you from the Electornic Entertainment Expo - E3. And it's about products in development. It's about products on the verge, and as such we had an opportunity to talk to video game designer Virgil Tatum who is showcasing a project - a game entitled The Nisha Chronicles, Vol. 1. So why don't you tell us a little bit about this project?

V: Well, it's still in development. It's based on the real life exploits of Nisha Roberts and her company, Last Resort Retrieval.

B: Now I think the name Nisha Roberts rings bells for a lot of people, but can you fill in the blanks a little?

V: Uh, Nisha is, um, she's a friend of mine and, um, she's sort of a cross between a spy and a repo man.

B: So, can a game that crosses a spy with a repo man, how realistic can that game really be?

V: Very realistic. In fact, it will be very realistic. Something along the lines of - Gran Turisimo?

B: Wow. Wow, that's real. Now we at a music channel know that music is crucial to telling a story in music videos and now in video games. Do you think you'll use some VH1 artists for the soundtrack or, or maybe go for something like an original score soundtrack?

V: There will definitely be an original score.

B: All right. We will speak more about The Nisha Chronicles, Vol. 1 and with Virgil Tatum, but right now, getting back to the countdown, at number 16 this week is Gavin Degraw with Chariot.

<video interlude>

B: At #16 this week, that's Gavin Degraw with Chariot. We continue with Virgil Tatum and about his latest project, The Nisha Chronicles, Vol. 1. Now you say on your website that you feed your mastery of ciphers, puzzles, and codes into every video game that you create. Now in The Nisha Chronicles, Vol. 1. is there a code to crack, Mr. Tatum?

V: Well, you'll just have to wait and see. But, uh, for those that want to test themselves, go to virgilkingofcode.com and the few that deem themselves worthy will have access to deeper layers of my thoughts.

B: Now, in a place like this, there are alot of TV crews and we can't help but look around at the size of our competition. But you're here and these are your peers and your competition. There is so much brain power and genius in a hall like this. Is there room enough for all of it?

V: Hmm. <starts spouting French, the smug little snot>

B: *sigh* So true. Listen, for the people that don't speak French, what did you just say?

V: 'The power of true genius shines forth in a crowd like a lantern held against the gathering darkness'.

B: Take that. Listen, thanks for joining us, Virgil Tatum - The Nisha Chronicles, Vol. 1. the game. But getting back to the countdown, number 15 this week is Howie Day and Collide.

That sounds like a clue to me... did a google and it didn't turn up any exact matches. Any french speaking people know what it would have been in french?

Rowan, thanks for posting the transcript. Go, Virgil!

I agree that the French is a hint, but I can't translate it exactly without hearing it my French is not that good anymore. If no one here can do it, then I can find someone tomorrow, and, the quote is so bland, that it could be one of any number of writers. Perhaps Rabelais? Seems unlikely though....

latern against the gathering darkness
reminds me of the background on the hidden pages. Was this interview before or after we finally found the hidden puzzles on his site? I don't remember the timing.
