Narcissus is the guy who was so beautiful he died because he caught his reflection on the surface of a lake and just sat there admiring himself until he starved to death.

The Greek gods dug this sort of thing, so they turned him into the flower.

A type of Daffodil is called the Poet's Narcissus. Lots of flowers are different kinds of Narcissus...es...... Narcissi? Urgh. I dunno.
