I am going to cast my vote for "[extremely] private site."

Subject: Notice of hacking attempt

One of your users (at IP address [REDACTED]) is apparently
attempting unauthorized -- and therefore ILLEGAL -- access
of our server. (See a representative sample of our log
entries, below.)

This user repeatedly attempted telnet logins on our server.
He/she attempted to upload files to our FTP server. He/she
connected to our mail server without sending any data.

Not shown in the log entries below is the PORT SCANS he/she
made (which were detected and logged by other means than
the servers). The ports scanned included, but were not
necessarily limited to, the following ports:

HTTP, X11, printer, RPC, font server

All times in the log are in USA Central Time Zone.

Please take appropriate corrective action to prevent
further such unauthorized, illegal access attempts.

Thank you.

I'm just gonna give you guys a warning. The guys that run this site might really be wackos and try to get you arrested for doing this. I don't think it's a game.

haha right, like you're going to get arrested for portscanning or connecting to his ftp server which allows anonymous access. it's obviously just some douche who doesn't know much about law or the internet and thinks he is famous now or something. he copied that list of services right from brienigma's earlier post.

Their news page now says

Quote:
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
# 1 June 2005: This is a PRIVATE system. We are NOT accepting new members. Thank your for your interest, however.

When going to http://www.hiddenforbiddenholyground.com/newacct.php?tp=205fqg251erk201iwf2 32xec&id=unspecified (mentioned earlier in the thread) it redirects you to the main page because it no longer seems to exist.

Now the whole thing is gone. Yep, this is definetly someone who's running a private system.

And if it makes you feel better, my access attempt has also been logged. Yay! Confused

Rather than an ARG (Alternate Reality Game), this appears to be merely RL (Really Lame). Let's move on to something worthwhile, hey? Locky!
