[SOLVED][PUZZLE] Lock image on Morgan Paranormal-5/31

Credit for the following solve goes respectfully to Drewbear from #rookerytower.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The attached image rota.JPG was found on the Morgan Paranormal Website today (5/31/2005). Also, an email from laylasweetieSPLATgmail.com was recieved, with the image line.JPG attached. line.JPG was used as a spin code for the rota.JPG image. Each spin's corresponding letter spelled out HARKENTHESWEETDEMONLULLABY, leading us to harkenthesweetdemonlullaby.htm.

From the mentioned site:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"You shouldn't wat0ch you0r brother that way, 5 my boy," he purred.

I looked up. M6y eyes, chin in my palm, had been following Eric from across the room as he cleaned. C

"You see, he cont6inued, such clo1seness between t6wins can only end in tears."

I raised my e4yebrows, in a gesture of 'what are you talking about?' I was careful not to directly speak to him in ears7hot of my brother, as his reactions tended to be extreme. It was as if Eric didn't like me talking to hi5m.

"Tel6l me my boy, do you know the story of Narcissus?"

I nodded. M5iss Mary-Anne had told it to us when we were l7earning about the Greeks and Romans.

He clapp2ed his hands to 7his heart in one of the dramatic gestures he was prone to. "O pretty liar!" he ex4claimed, "You know the myth of Narcissus. Let me tell you the tru7e story."

And then...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Take out the numbers and the random letter "C" to get "0056c6164756572747" which we were stuck on. A picture of a mirror was then added and the code was mirrored to give "7472756574616C6500" which is hex for "truetale" and thus:

http://www.freewebs.com/morganparanormal/truetale.htm

... which we are currently working on. Included is another shredded pic and a midi file, as well as "ufvtvsqkghnkfbvoe" in the source code. Good luck guys.

I can't seem to get the plugin working for the .midi file, what is it? The quotatation is shakespere from "As You Like It." As for the lettters I've tried ROTing them as well as using asyoulikeit as a key to a Cipher, no luck there either, I figure maybe the midi would help if I could hear it.

Yay! I solved something!

I have a strong suspicion the new mails were a prod - a "Get ON with it!"

So I plugged the word
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Byron
into a Vigenere (is that how it's spelt) for the letters in the source, and it came out thusly:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
thefirstsummoning

Leading to http://www.freewebs.com/morganparanormal/thefirstsummoning.htm

which has this on it:

I had the chalk. I had the book. I had the candles. It was nearly time to test that prowess I had acquired in the years of my brother's absence. The hairs stood on the back of my neck and I was suddenly aware that I was not alone. That fiend, Xazlael had come to torment me again. "Begone spook," I snapped, without turning around.

I stiffened as I felt the demon rest his arms on my shoulders. "Now, what fun would that be?"

"I care nothing for your 'fun', leave me in peace at once."

He stepped around so that he was in my field of vision. "Now, now Eric. You ought to keep a civil head in your tongue. You used to have such fine manners."

I pushed my reading glasses up on my nose in irritation. "I used to be unplagued by demons."

"Plagued by demons? Don't I see you now preparing to summon one?"

"Fire with fire," I muttered darkly.

"What's this?" the Tall Man asked amused. He laughed. "Well then, since you're so busy, "demon master" I shall leave you to your unholy devices.

He bowed mockingly, and I felt a hot flush of anger cross my face. How dare he insinuate!

I took a deep breath, and looked down at the page of my tome. It was a simple imp, but even so the sigils and runes were so intricate, and I knew that even one wrong line, or one mispronounced utterance, might cause the creature to escape and do me harm.

And yet this was the price. I would find a way to keep Xazlael from haunting this place.

and in the source: "Isn't it Byronic?", which makes me laugh.

Who ya gonna call? ERIC!

The snarky comment in the last page turned out to be the next pagename

which contains the following Vig-code

This email just arrived from Morgan, probably relevent to this:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Nor can I blame thee though it be my lot
To strongly wrongly vainly love thee still

EDIT:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Turns out we are idiots and that is the key for the vignere above which comes out to:

Damn you Jareth!

And damn me too…

I shouldn’t be doing this. And if intending to do it, I sure as hell shouldn’t be writing it down! Yet I feel, somehow compelled.

I should tell her. After this weekend after all…

I had a chance. I had an opening.

She asked about it, she asked about the scar on my side.

I might have said.

And yet I didn’t.

I shouldn’t be in this house.

SHE shouldn’t be in this house!

Why the hell did we come back? I should have taken her and kept on running. But I’m drawn to it. Sure as hell can’t tell why.

Can’t for the life of me remember what happened in those woods.

Laughing?

I don’t keep a journal. Why the hell am I writing this?

Layla? Is that you?

Looks like there's more to Morgan than meets the eye Very Happy

Shocked Shocked Shocked WOW!!! Something from Morgan's POV... My jaw is dropping. And ERIC! Eric is trying to banish TTM with an imp? Oh god. I'm so addicted to this. Oh god. Shocked Twins.... Hey.... it's a thought, but.... they have last names. Unless, their parents got a divorce shortly after they were born (2 years, or something, and they wouldn't remember properly) and didn't stay in contact and each took one kid and the wife made "her" child keep her maiden name, and the father made "his" child keep his last name.

Kinda far-fetched? Yes. But... hmm. I was sortof thinking more that said scar came from some paranormal experiance... And then he went back to the house, and he said it was a really bad place. I think it has to do with the Tall Man, 'cause he was talking about that day, y'know? And... it would've been a bit disjointed otherwise.

Anyway. Yeah.

Hey, it worked for Luke and Leia. Well, they weren't joined at the [insert body part here], but you get the idea. But yeah, this is turning out to be quite the adventure...

Well, I guess. It seemed a bit far-fetched to me, but... Anyway.

Oh! Hey, on another note... Who do you people think Jareth is?? Someone who betrayed Morgan? An old business partner? A brother? (No, not all three at once Razz)

Anyway. Yay for wild rounds of speccing.
