Probably the wrong area...

I just found out about the vast riches linked under the hidden page at http://www.virgilkingofcode.com/naoko/, and I had a couple of things to report, and questions to ask. Maybe there is some relationship the wordsearch cube puzzle.

First, I took a look at Naoko's death certificate at http://www.virgilkingofcode.com/naoko/photos/death_cert.jpg. There are a few oddities:

1) Some of the information on the Naoko's death certificate is also in the cube. Some of this I already noticed, but did not appreciate. Other things, proper names particularly, I didn't notice.

Code:

(11,19, 0) ( 0,19, 0): internalbleedingtzwl "internal bleeding" - immediate cause of death
( 3,17,12) ( 1, 0, 0): mtolivetmuddleethwbt "Mt. Olivet" - cemetery
( 7, 4,15) ( 1, 1, 0): pilotknobanfahjripej "Pilot Knob" - birthplace
( 5, 1, 5) ( 0, 1, 0): yukikotakahashitftyz "Yukiko Takahashi" - mother
(10, 4,18) ( 0, 1, 0): edwardfwupairpnvptpp "Edward F. Wu" - father
(12, 4,15) ( 0, 1, 0): graceklunkupuecrbain "Grace Klunk" - informant
( 1,17,12) ( 0,19, 0): benzmortuarydrbufdfi "Benz Mortuary"

I actually noticed the "mtolivet" word before, but since I hadn't looked at the death certificate, only saw "Mt. Olive". That seemed too religious for Mr. Tatum, so I interpreted the phrase as "to live". That seems wrong now.

2) Is it just me, or does it look like the part of the "Due to" line just before "car accident", and maybe just after, has been whited-out? If so, what do you imagine it used to say?

3) Naoko last name on the death certificate is her father's last name, Wu, not Tatum. Maybe the coroner uses maiden names. Maybe Naoko kept her maiden name, though that seems surprising married to with someone as manipulative as Virgil.

4) Her occupation is given as "designer". I don't remember that from Virgil's write-up. Is this more of Virgil's fake career "tribute" to Naoko?

5) "Approximate interval: Onset to death" = 12 hours? The "informant lived on the same street as the hospital, only 21 numbers away! If the accident happened right there, she would have been in the hospital in minutes. So how did she die of "internal bleeding" 12 hours later? Maybe she had the accident earlier, but only went to the hospital at the last minute. If so, she must have taken herself and collapsed on the way - otherwise, whoever took her would be the informant, not Grace Klunk. Why did she wait so long? Since she died at 10:56 pm, the accident must have occured around 11 am - plenty of time and opportunity to get herself to the hospital sooner.

6) For amusement only, I tried to check out the addresses on the certificate. The "Hospital" is identified only by address: 5900 Wilshire Blvd. As it happens, 5900 Wilshire is actually a radio station, kkbt, located next to Hancock Park. There are real hospitals nearby, but that address isn't one of them.

Also, while I couldn't reverse-lookup their home address, 721 Third Street, Brentwood, CA, I did learn that "mansion" is somewhere in between the Brentwood City Offices at 708 3rd St., and "Nutition Program CC Cafe" (sic) at 730 3rd St.

7) Appropo of nothing, there happens to be a "Mount Olive Cemetery of Lemay" in Saint Louis.

Secondly, there is a picture, http://www.virgilkingofcode.com/naoko/photos/chaulk_outline.jpg that is linked to the word "shoot" in the writeup on http://www.virgilkingofcode.com/naoko/no_you_dont_see.html. Does anyone have any idea who this guy might be? And, given the name of the jpg, anyone think something bad might have happened to him?

Man, I love your posts...I need time to read more carefully, but to answer this question, have you had a chance to read through the following thread on the VanGogh directory? It includes discussion on mister chaulk_outline guy.

Re: Probably the wrong area...

Why, thank you, missphinx. That's high praise indeed.

Undeserved though, I'm afraid. No, I hadn't read that thread. I swear, I did try to search the forum for chaulk_outline.jpg, but nothing came up. I'm going to have to spend some time getting familar with the tools on this site.

Even worse, just as with the Naoko hidden page, I hadn't gone through all of the links under mastersofart. I know better - if nothing else, I could have looked at the source code to find the links - but to be honest, I find Virgil so... icky? ... that I kind of minimized my time on his site the first time through.

So I'm probably just raising old questions. But I appreciate the kind words, as well as the guidance. I guess I'll revisit the hidden pages, and this time I'll look more carefully!
