Yes, apparently we went to Carousel and were renewed! We have checked and have full access again to City of Domes.
DC confirmed Renewal in Chat. Then chided me "Do not share this communication".
Spec in #cityofdomes is that this first meeting was a warning and we need to remember what DC told us - Do not share your ID with anyone. And to be more careful (in any in-game meeting or character chat). Or that maybe there was a false start and they weren't ready for runners yet.

So, carousel is as easy as being pre-approved for a credit card?

that's weird...
if renewal works then there's no motivation to run, with no motivation to run there's no need for sandmen...
oh well, i'll still play along.

Maybe this is why there hasn't been any runners then

also, as a Meta-thing... your true renewal would encourage the story more... therefore strengthening COD's power and influence.
(However, for being a Logan's Run ARG, they're already changing some rules of the universe, right? I mean, renewal is a biggie, but that someone helping deceive "as a runner" would be given a second chance? That ANYONE could talk to mother computer? Anyway, that's my thoughts...)

They have totally changed the rules of the Logans Run universe.
You are supposed to go to Carousel on your 30th Birthday to be renewed, not when you have done something wrong.
No one has ever been renewed, so how come we all have all of a sudden?!
People found breaking the City Of Domes rules are classed as runners and terminated.
Only Sandmen get to speak to the Mother Computer.
Sandmen are designated from birth and know nothing else.
In this new ARG world it seem's we go to Carousel for doing something we should'nt, we only get terminated if we actually run.
No one seem's to get slated for Carousel cause they are deemed to be 30, which is what I thought was gonna happen.
I was expecting DomeCentral to take everyone's names and randomly chose Citizens for last day termination, but they hav'nt done this.

To be fair, these arent laws of physyics or "The Force", they are the laws of the city, and this is the second city of domes, decades after Logan's Run. Things can be done VERY differently this time.

the only thing that I can respond to (and again, I'm extremely limited because with lack of AIM, I'm forced to lurk) is this:
Perhaps you being in that chat "made you blink"... perhaps THAT's the method of choosing runners. Since you were in a discussion designed to trap potential runners, perhaps it is assumed you are blinking, and therefore you were in-game, naturally blinking... (am I making sense?)
Since there's no method (currently) of telling you your lifeclock status, I would assume that you're blinking. And if not, there is precedent of Mother Computer being able to change lifeclock status (especially since lifeclock is completely a device of COD, as your life does not automatically end at 30 otherwise, as shown in the film...)
But yeah, the rest of it (especially an actual renewal) is completely bad form, (until we get a good explanation, at the very least...)

I would think that the rules could have changed since "last time" because of what happened... we can't rely on what the rules always have been. Perhaps the Mother Computer is being a lot more cautious this time and eliminates any perceived threats as well...
