I noticed that the resurrection auto site mentioned an evergreen parts leading me to http://evergreenparts.com/ Looks an awful lot like the evergreen foundations site to me in a way .

Also noticed that the little authorized dealer gif is referred to as a lute on the hollis site

Yea, the evergreen parts site looks in game. Notice how the store is acting really weird, and half the site isn't filled out yet. I signed up for the newsletter on the store page though. You can also go to DivaDesign World, the link is on the bottom of the home page of ever green parts. Which looks to be the designer of that page. If it is an actual web designer, which I doubt, it's a very unusual one. Notice the Bling Bling link on every page? It leads to a flash movie which contains a url somewhere I'm pretty sure because the source for the page has this.

I'm making a new post, becasue this one is gouing to be pretty long. No one has done the WHoIh for these sites yet, so I went ahead and did them. Very interesting hmmm...
I'm just going to include the admin info contact because thats where everything is connected.
I also found a new site done by them called Acumed Vet and that's attached because it was made by Diva Design World, it's in their portfolio of examples, there are also 13 other's that I didn't try right now in there.

EverGreen-Foundation, Resurrection Autoparts and Hollis Martial Arts are registered by Domains By Proxy, meaning a Who Is is kind of useless, because all it links to is Domains By Proxy's site. But the dates of these three things are kinda similar.

Well so far, all of these sites are linked, but other then this trail of websites and the posts on the board, I can't see any reason why this would be an Arg, a good marketing campign for the book maybe, but not and Arg.

For what it's worth...

In that same webpage, there is a review by Tabula Rising. In all of the reviews that feature customer reviews, it is the same three people doing the reviews. (Found via Google) Also, in Tabula Rising's comments, the word "errands" is in quotes. Plus, the Tabula play a role in the book, and although I cannot quite remember, on one of the sites mentioned in this thread, I think I have seen the word "Tabula" before. Also, I did some digging and found these pages... (I do not wanna hotlink).

here -it mentions this as a promotional ploy like one for the book "The DaVinci Code".
xxhttp://www.geocities.com/judithstrand/_pix/ -an index of the stuff on Judith Strand's webpage, although not shown I believe, and check out 5.jpg, the headphones and sunglasses with the weird looking dude in the glasses
xxhttp://dislofics.blogspot.com/ -the blog has been updated and it contains the picture of the lute and some words.
----------
Also since Gabe Chouinard also posts on this website, and just for this topic, I was just wondering if I am the only one that finds that interesting?

Y'all can chew on that for awhile, and please lemme know what y'all think about all this because I am as curious as everyone else here.

Edit - URL - SG

Yeah I posted that bit about Gabe a few post back. Plus an interesting link.
Nobody commented on that pobably because I am a "greenhorn"
I also think its pretty poorly disguised media ploy since the other link I posted... http://www.randomhouse.com/features/traveler/
Shows the cheesy official "survielance headquarters of Evergreen" on none other than the Random House Main Website. But nobody commented on that either.

At the risk of sounding like a whiner, This has not been a very welcoming experience, and from what I've read that is not how this "community" is intended to be...
In fact the whole concept of inventing the trout was to replace the "flame", to give new players a gentle reminder about things not a slap on the hand.
and Finally, If I ere a veteran player and someone came along saying this was there first time playing and was very exited and enthusiastic, I would respond to thier comments when they posted them, thus positively encouraging their involvemnet, and at the very least WELCOME THEM TO ARG'ing come ON people. Not one How do you do

Heya Mr. Lund,

Sorry your experience hasn't been the best so far. It's a big board, so I, for one, frankly hadn't noticed your new posts. This thread's been around a while, so it's easy for me to overlook. Hate to see things get off on the wrong foot.

Admittedly, sometimes trout gets flung around a little wontonly at times, but it's really the most often misunderstood and at the same time overused (imho) term around here, heh. Usually, it should be reserved for pretty high traffic threads, which this really isn't, where it can serve a better purpose.

So stick around, give folks a chance. Smile I've found almost everyone here to be tons more mature and tons less rude than your average online community. I'd hate to see you go over a little trout. Wink

I don't play ARGs, or whatever the term is. I found out about this board by following inbound links to my blog. I'm a real person.

Nor do I *think* I'm the Gabe on Myspace. But then again, I might be. I hope to find out soon.

The Traveler is a book, written by one John Twelve Hawks, who does not exist. Except he does, as I've corresponded with him. He is off the grid.

This is important:

As I said before, this goes deeper and deeper.

Mr. Lund, I hereby extend the Dorkmaster, um... Flannel Shirt of Friendliness to ya...

Seriously, though. The truth is that there are a lot of new faces to the boards lately, and that's going to change the "flava" of the community for a little bit until everyone is up to speed with customs and standards and practices and such... However, I assure you (and concur wholeheartedly with vpisteve) that you are indeed welcome, and that you are valued for your input, regardless of what a couple trout-happy posters think.

I sincerely hope that wasn't what happened.

Good posts are good posts regardless of the post counter of the author.

I'm not following this trailhead, so I can't comment on the post itself, but let me take this moment to welcome you to Unfiction and reassure you most of us pay no attention whatsoever to an insignificant little number when reading posts. We care what was said, not how many times the poster has spoken.

Indeed. The community tries to be welcoming. But in our defense, there are a lot of games going on and a lot of people posting here (we just hit 7000!). When a lot of people join in a short period of time, there's no feasible way for us to notice every newbie and personally welcome them. Sad

So the best we can do is say hi and welcome when we happen to be reading a thread and someone mentions that they're new.

Well, again, I'm sorry you feel that way. As I mentioned, there's a lot going on here, and most of us only have time to read the threads for games we're following and maybe occasionally browse some other random thread. Which means we miss a lot of newbies. And the other people posting in the same threads as newbies may be people who haven't been around that long themselves, and therefore don't feel comfortable welcoming others.

So, hi, welcome, and glad to have you. Smile

EDIT: LOL, 1830, 1019, and 1519 posts, respectively...satisfied with the veteran status of the people who've said hi now? Wink

Ah sorry, I might have been a bit rough in my replys. I intended no offense or harshness, I just come off like that sometimes. Believe me, I didn't mean it that way, was just slightly distracted. Anyways, you actually don't seem like too much of a new comer to me, that's a compliment. You've done more then I did with my first post, pointed out something that the rest of us completely missed. I didn't mean any offense by not replying directly to your other posts either, I just couldn't think of anything intelligent to say to your ideas, they were good, I just didn't have anything to add to them. Sorry to have come across as so callous, I swear I'm normally not. All friends and smiles here! Very Happy

EDIT- I think we can kinda declare this *Arg* dead, because obviously, it's more of a marketing trail then anything else. Gabe is obviously not some character. I am gonna go pick up the book though!

Okay Okay
I feel welcomed already...

Seriously though, thanks. I am sorry if I have not followed proper form...I did read all that I could before posting anything, on this site and others like it... I catch on pretty quick, bear with me...but thank you everybody.
Very Happy

Mr. Lund,

I am sorry if it sounded like no one was paying attention. I did read all of your posts. I wasn't sure if you found it interesting that Gabe led us to this, and was posting here as well. Anyways, I do hope you stay aboard, because I am a newbie as well. So welcome and enjoy your stay. It gets addictive... trust me. LOL

I do agree that this is probably not an ARG in the sense of most on here, but there is definitely a trail, puzzles, or something to do with this stuff. I for one, am more interested in this because I can't quite figure out what is going on. That nags at me, but I hope to take more time on it when I get the chance.

Oh, and the marketing ploy to sell the book works with me. I like the premise and will probably purchase the book too. I doubt I would have even heard about it if not for this site.

This quote eerily reminds me of a book I just finished reading called "This Perfect Day" kinda creepy. (great book btw)

You should go talk to a fellow named Dmax. He's been threatening peopl with all sorts of unpleasantness if they don't read that book. Wink
