**TIME IS UP** WE LOSE! Just thought we may as well have a countdown.
I know I've put countless hours in over the last week trying to finally solve it but unsurprisingly to no avail.
So..
TIME IS UP, TODAY IS JUNE 27TH
Guess our souls just weren't up to scratch. (Actually you've probably got about 9 hours until someone gets into the office, but that sort of ruins the dramatic effect)

less than an hour to go, and no closer to the solution.

Well, it's the 27th now. I only hope someone somewhere who didn't participate in this community will receive some good news today. I certainly hope we hear the solution, or I'm going to be mighty suspicious...
So, any news from anywhere, don't be shy, speak up!

Boo. Poor show stella. It's now the 28th and not even an email from S&S to say 'sorry, your soul is not worthy, we're keeping the ten grand.' I'm very disappointed.
I think they just gave up in the end.
Is anyone holding out a faint hope that we might hear something in the next six weeks, or should we all just pack up and go home?

i think we will see the sites disappearing, and maybe something on helpmefindjon.com about it ending.
presumably, whoever does win will do some promotional stuff for stella.
let's hope it;s one of us. (i'm not aware of any 'outsiders')

Well, it's after 9am on 28th June, so whether it was midnight on June 27th or midnight on June 28th that the game officially ended, it's definitely over now.
The sites are all still there, unchanged. No communication of any kind from the PMs, or Stella. No clue as to what is going on.
Total disrespect for the players of their game. By inference, total disrespect for their paying customers.
Screw you too Stella.

I emailed Interbev, the company listed in the Terms and Conditions as the promoter of this competition. I said:
Quote:
Dear Sirs
I have been playing the Sable & Shuck game for some months, and understand that the closing date for the completion of the game has now passed.
I wonder if you could tell me what plans you have to put players out of our misery by letting us know whether someone won the prize, and giving us the solution to the game's puzzles now that the chance to win has passed?
Kind regards
Just now I received this reply:
Quote:
Thank you for e-mailing our consumer helpline regarding the Sable and Shuck puzzle.
I am sorry but I have never heard of this, which brand is it linked with?
Is it for the take home or on trade markets?
Regards

I'm going to reply to explain as best I can. Strange that a company is running a promotion with a £10,000 prize and its own staff don't know about it.

i might be wrong but i thought the company behind it was Inbev, not Interbrew.
it says so at the bottom of the terms and conditions
edit: maybe i am wrong. interbrew is part of inbev

Inbev is the new name the corporation making Stella Artois, former Interbrew, has adopted after a recent merge with brazilian brewer Ambev. Interbrew+Ambev=Inbev, in a spectacular exhibition of lack of creativity.
Probably the European offices still go under "Interbrew" during the adjustment time.

I have an old schoolfriend who works at Interbrew in the UK, and she still has an interbrew email address.
And yes, I asked her. And no, she didn't know.

Methinks interbrew marketing dept. had a hundred K or so left in their budget a year ago and some intern/resident nerd/whatever pitched the idea of an ARG and marketing decided to try it for a couple of months. Since it didnt hit off that well (no mass appeal) they killed most of it, maybe keeping one person part-time looking at the arg, but not really caring about it.
Or is that just my sarcastic (realistic??) view on marketing?
Anyone up for a mass demonstration at Stella HQ? Release John!!!

It does look like that might be the case. Still, it can't cost them too much to email us all and tell us what happened, can it?
