A Nested, Stegged GIF? Yeppers.

The GIF saving out smaller really bothered me, because a simple color replacement would have it saving out the same size.

Since the first stegged image that came out used Camouflage, I was trying that for a long time. I literally spent most of the weekend pounding on this one frickin' image.

Then I noticed that they bolded the 69 on the MySQL error string this morning. That reminded me of the HTML comment in the press release.

Turns out that if you take the SQL cookie:
096b796cb7f48fa6fcd118c1e6854e72
Then take the 6th, 9th, 6th and 9th characters from that string, you get:
096b796cb7f48fa6fcd118c1e6854e72

6 9 6 9

9a1e

If you put that into Camouflage, it unsteggs the GIF, and 2 files are located inside of it: feeeedback!.gif and lanthanoids.txt.

Lanthanoids.txt only contains the word "Lanthanoids".

Now I'm torn between sleep and figuring out what to do with this one...

Tried it as a keyword and got nothing. Going to keep looking at this and see what I can come up with...

It seems to be the same, I found the two words for the same elements.

lanthanoids apparently from the greek word 'to be hidden'
from http://www.horacemann.pvt.k12.ny.us/pages/student/2002/frank/INDEX.HTM
look through that file again see if theres anything more.
or better yet post it.

Haha!

http://www.legionpharma.com/about.php?9a1e

also brings up a page that says "Lanthanoids"

Also, from checking many many periodic tables, lanthanoids and lanthanides appear to be interchangable words

The lanthanoids (also called lanthanides, lanthanons or rare earth elements) are the series of elements from Cerium, Atomic Number 58, to Lutetium, atomic number 71.

The lanthanoids all have two outer s-electrons (i.e. having a 6s(2) electronic configuration). The lanthanoids and actinoids make up the f-block. The lanthanides are silvery very reactive metals.

I tried to combine the elements with the "Euro" sign for an Europium but no luck on the keyword either. Tried all the other elements - the euro's aren't an index into it.

Christ man, it has nothing to do with cookies! Firstly, it ISN'T a cookie, and it may be cookie-related, but that is FAR from its sole use.

However congratulations on the find. Smile

Here's something thats been buggin me....
If you look at all the images that have been camo'd... at the end of the file they all have something along the lines of: t¤T"
splash.jpg
img_4yoUreyesonly.jpg
feeeedback!.gif

Now...the last 2 files did contain text files, yet splash.jpg did not.
Is is possible for splash to have stuff hidden with and without a password in the same file?

Or now that I'm thinking more could the t¤T" at the end of splash.jpg just be part of feeeedback!.gif

Just a thought, hehe.

more thinking.....

the 69 clue gave us Lanthanoids.....on the same page there was a 14 7....
there are 14 lanthanoids........coincidence......the seventh lanthanoid is gadilinium....not a keyword.

Shows Lanthanoids

14 7 = Ununquadium, not a keyword, meh, worth a shot.

It's not the name of any of the Lanthanoids (as in element name, full word). I have not tried any of the abbriviations - but at least we save them some bandwidth on the guesses (unless they put one in after I've tried it).
