I looked up the plants in My Family/homework.txt
I think the solve lies elsewhere Smile

  • pelargonium fissifolium: geranium (pelargonium) from South Africa - fissifolius means "split leaves"
  • ulmus carpinifolia: smoothleaf elm
  • phytolacca americana: American pokeweed
  • antirrhinum majus: snapdragon
  • calochortus coeruleus: calochortus means lily. caeruleus means blue or dark blue. (calochortus coeruleus var. maweanus synonym of Calochortus tolmiei (Cat's Ears, Pussy Ears) = ?) -EDIT- catherwood identified this as blue-star tulip - http://elib.cs.berkeley.edu/photos/browse_imgs/plant_sci_43.html
  • sambucus mexicana: blue or Mexican elderberry
  • raphanus raphanistrum: wild radish
  • cleome lutea: yellow spiderflower or yellow bee plant

I wish that I had more time to work on this but work is really busy today and I have to catch a flight to NYC in a couple of hours for a meeting.

I have started to work on this but need to put it aside - as much as it bothers me to do so. I also may be way off base here but it is the only thing that I can think of that I haven't tried yet.

Looking at the directions for the sciencework.txt it indicates melting points in C. I am reinterpretting this direction to mean that we take need to focus exclusively on those elements that either begin or contain the letter C.

Which leaves us focused on:
Ca
Ce
Co
Cm
Cu
Cs
Cd
and possibly
Sc
Tc

I started to play around with the idea of ignoring the C's and trying to rearrange the letters "aeomusd" and "aeomusdst" to see if I could get anything that would open ppics.zip or ppics2.kgb.

Things that seemed interested included the start of the word museo (italian for museum) but I tried a few variations and didn't get anywhere. I also tried "assumed to" with no luck.

As I said, I have no idea if this is even vaguely in the right direction but I thought I would post in hopes that it might cause a light to go off in someone else's head while I have to force myself to go back to work. Sad
