It sounds to me like the local summer festival we have here. (George Street Festival). One street (about 100 yards long), close to 50 bars (pubs for the Brits Smile

), live music and drinking on the street, one ticket gets you onto the street and into all the bars (no additional cover). Monumental piss-up indeed.
