likewise, I've always been a fan of the needler, even in Halo 1. The ultimate taunt at LAN parties was "Hey (name), guess what? I just killed you with the needler!"

Ha, I kinda hate the needler ... But I would have fun! It would be like a Purple Party! I'd just use ton of circle strafing and punches to the face!

Soccer, yes, SOCCER!- I mentioned this idley awhile ago, but I tried it out today, and it could defiently work. We have tried it out yet with alot of people, (only 4 of us today) but it is gonna be perfect for when we are craving a containment game with over 10 people.

Ok, to start out, you have to use that glitch which makes the mines all unexplodey-able (yea, that's totally a real word) Just one of them, the rest can be totally left on map.
If you don't know what that glitch is, just ask me, I'll show you all it's too complicated to write out but only takes like 30 seconds in game.
Ok, now that you have the ball, because this mine will never explode, wether hit by vehicles, rockets, grenades, or meleeing it, you totally have a kick ass soccer ball.
Now Containment is set up totally perfectly for a soccer match, the gates being the two goals, you have to get the gate open and then shove it through the gate to score.
I'm still fooling wether or not to have tanks for goalies, but you definetly have to have overshields, and hopefully like 4 ghosts and 2 banshees and no warthogs.
It's a work in progress, but we totally should try it out tomarrow night!

We used to play a variant of this on blood gulch with a warthog as the ball and tanks as the players. Doesn't work so well now with destructable hogs. But it was always a blast. I'm up for trying out this new variant.

Football:

The initial maps for H2 did not suit the game type well so I am posting this again. With these new maps this game type works very well. My friends and I had fun playing this for game type alone for 3 hours last night. The maps size is the key to this game as you do not want to play this game on a small map with a large number of people.

In H1 the game type was:
Flag Assault, No Shield, Rockets, No Radar
Maps: Longest, Wizard, Derelict, Battle Creek (basically any symmetricall map will do)

In H2 the game type is:
Assault, Single bomb, 5 second arm time, Sticky arm on, round time limit is variable depending on map size, First to 3 wins, Bomb indicator for Offensive team ONLY, No Shield, No Radar, Rockets
Maps: Enlongation (This map rocks for this game type), Worlock, Backwash, (again any symmetricall map will do)

I'm getting this all from memory so if there's anything I've left out I'll edit it later. ENJOY![/b]

Zombie variant:
I've played this with weephun and the HALOID crew before and loved it. We tried it on Backwash the other night, and everyone seemed skeptical at first, but seemed to have it really grow on them after one or two tries.

Starting Weapons: Sword, Shotgun
Weapons on Map: Pistols
Weapon Respawn Time: No Respawn
Starting Grenades: Off
Grenades on map: Off
Vehicles on Map, Banshee, Turrets: All off
Kills: 50
No shields
No Radar
No Active Camouflage
No Overshield

The idea is that the humans stand a chance to win. At first, everyone thought 50 kills was very low, but as the zombie chain reaction began to happen, the hope of actually reaching 50 dwindles. If the humans reach 50 kills, they win. If all of the humans are killed, the zombies win, and the last person killed is the first zombie in the next match. The result is a difference in mentality on the part of the humans and the zombies; humans change the mentality from hiding and being the last alive to resorting to group tactics to kill straggling zombies and rack up a point wherever possible. Later in the game zombies pay attention to how close the humans may be to the goal, and plan rush attacks accordingly to prevent a human victory. I enjoy it a lot, in any case.

Yellow vs. Green Multiflag: Waterworks
Because the bases on Waterworks are designated to Red and Blue, picking alternate colors on a Multiflag game will result in spawning at the Flag/Bomb points in the tunnels instead, resulting in a lateral CTF game, and consequently a complete change in tactics and strategy. I've had very few complaints from the people I've played this with so far. Power weapons and vehicles are just as important as they are in classic Red vs. Blue games, but seemingly in entirely different manners. Definitely nice for a change of pace.

Hide and Seek

Starting Weapons: BR, magnum
Weapons on Map: none
Weapon Respawn Time: No Respawn
Starting Grenades: Off
Grenades on map: Off
Vehicles on Map, none, Turrets: All off
No powerups on the map
Kills: unlimited
time: 5 min

Players:
No shields
Active Camouflage: on
No Overshield
radar on

Juggernaught:
overshield
fast
extra damage
no radar
unlimited ammo

All other players hide from the juggernaught (no glitching of any sort allowed, you must stay in the map boundaries). And are not allowed to shoot at the juggernaught.

The juggernaught counts to 10, then goes seeking. If he can find and kill all the other players within the 5 min, he wins. If at the end of 5 min there are still 1 or more players alive, they win.


Best played on smaller maps. A variant I've been wanting to try though would have Rocket launcher and sniper rifle start, slightly longer time (7-10min) and could be played on larger maps. I would also be interested to see if swapping out the magnum for a shotgun would work or if the spread pattern would make it too easy for the "seeker" to find people.

The juggernaut counts to 10????????? That might've been nice in that one particularly frustrating game where I spawned right next to the juggernaut, and had to sit there the whole time, waiting for the game to end. Sigh.

Yah, I think I forgot to emphasize that in our games the other night. Sorry Embarassed

My favorite was when the juggernaut didn't realize he was the juggernaut until he jumped into my hiding place (to hide) and I jumped and ran. I almost got away too.

I think I might've very well found one of the single best spots on that map, honestly. At first I thought Zorplex's was, but when we both showed up there I realized that it was probably too well known to be effective.

Counting to ten would definitely be a good thing.
