Argtalk dodges Mystery Buyer question

Quote:
Dear Argtalk,

Since you were going to reveal it during the broadcast anyway, would
you remind tell me, or generally releasing the information as to the
identity of the sites mysetry buyer?

A few people think that the Buyer may in fact be the kidnapper as
well, trying to intimidate you. Are the police looking into this
angle?

Thanks,

Saevitia

Dear Saevitia,

We don't believe the person who made the offer to purchase ARGTalk had
anything to do with Suzee's abduction. I'm not sure if the police are
aware of the ARGTalk buyout offer or not, but Mrs. Jones is and maybe
through her they are aware of it (although we have not been contacted
by them in regards to it).

We'll try to keep our readers updated with info, but unfortunately we
don't have much "new" news to report at present.

I thought that would be their answer...

[spec]
Consider this... Perhaps the theory that the kidnappers do include the bidder is in fact true. Any attempt at intimidation would require that ARGTalk at least suspect the bidder, otherwise any attempt at intimidation would fail by default. If they indeed do suspect the bidder, and truly fear for Suzzee's safety, as i suggested earlier on IRC, they would dodge the question or ignore it all together.
This particular response seems to indicate the bidder is not directly responsible, though it certainly does not eliminate him as a potential involvent, it certainly speaks words if the "police" are not seeing him as a possible suspect/lead, and that they themselves would openly deny even mentioning it to police.
[spec < spec]
If indeed the bidder were involved, and in contact with ARGTalk, threatening to keep it out of the po-po's radar, ARGTalk probably would not have wanted to respond to the email by indicating Mrs. Jones as someone who might spill the beans. Thereby further substantiating the above mentioned spec, that the bidder is not being sought as a potential lead.
[/spec < spec]
Though I certainly would note that we can't quite eliminate the bidder especially now that ARGTalk has directly avoided revealing his/her identity. The possible reasons behind this are endless, making this piece of interaction absolutely gain less as it pertains to our suspicions of the perps.
[/spec]

Though I would carefully watch/review the situation as it progresses...
