I need to correct #78 which I contributed...It is a Tiller's Hitch, not a Fisherman's Bend. I misread the chart.

newbie comment, take it as it is but...

seems to me that the bigger number (seven or eight) close to each visible knot represents the number of times the two ropes in the knot are crossing eachother.

Hmm, annoyingly I'm a scout (well, ex-scout i guess), but no fisherman, so most of the ones that are left are well over my head... I'll keep at it though...

i've just unzipped the puzzle and i don't know if you noticed it , but the name of the puzzle folder is "knotyourfatherspuzzle"
I don't know if it is usefull......

I think knot 23 is a triple surgeons knot, that is according to this link anyways.

Talked to a sailor/fisherman friend of mine at work, he identified

#5 as a Bimminey Knot

and

#35 and #44 as a fisherman's knot -- although that's different fisherman's than the one we identified last night.
