A lot of the knots are repeats, I am not saying they are wrong it is just something that stands out and may be important. Not sure though just putting it out there.

I noticed the same thing with the repeats, maybe it is a substitution type cipher.

this is the message from MDF sent to argtalk. it looks like we need to get moving on this.

I'd say one of us get a hold of oldtim3r and shake him up a bit and go:
"hey.. get off the bottle and take
it seriously for a change.. now you tell me which one are fishing
knots, or we'd have one dead Suzee on your name"

We cracked the code.
I read the clue that was sent to ARGTalk:
"You stare at the trees but refuse to see the forest!"
I took this to mean that we were concentrating on the individual knots, but we should be looking at all of them at once.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Delusional came up with a very accurate depiction of knots that were fisherman, and knots that weren't.
I took those and made the non-fisherman knots a 0, and the fisherman knots a 1. This gave an entire binary string of:
Quote:
01101101011110010111101001110100011001010111001001101001011011110111010101110011
Doing a binary-to-text conversion gives the translation:
myzterious
Which leads us to http://www.myzterious.com

Ooh.. KLOOS!

The names of the knots are useless.

Give up or persevere. Success or failure. Life or death. It's one or the other now."
Look for a binary pattern in the images..

I recognize quite a few of those knots as stuff you'd use for fishing. The other knots I guess you'd use for something else.
There are fishing knots and non fishing knots. 1's and 0's. It might be easier to see which ones have hooks and which ones don't, but if that doesn't work go deeper and see which ones are used for fishing.
At least that's my spec, and I'm too lazy to try it.
EDIT: damn you preview button!
