Still think it's best to leave Salk out for now and go for the three on it's own. This obviously encouragment to ask her though.

As I said back here, we don't know for sure if Violet is V from The Advisor's emails to Salk. This does seem like the perfect opportunity to ask about that symbol, so go for that, but perhaps we should see what she can tell us about it before we let on that we know about Salk and The Advisor.

Plus, if she's as innocent as we hope, then nosing around what texts Salk was looking at could alert people and put her in danger.

Alright, let's agree what to put in the email before anyone sends it.

Something like:

Dear Violet,

Cheer up! It's summer time and you're doing something you like! Plus some folks here on Earth have a task for you that you might find interesting.

We have uncovered a symbol of sorts. We're not sure what it is or means, but we get the idea that it's fairly archaic.

I've attached the symbol to this email. If you come across anything like it it the old library books, please let me know.

oops! hrm. I should have read the responses here first. I forgot about that Violet/V spec (probably because I'm investigating the sinister Horace Shockley currently) and sent a vague email asking about what Salk had been reading.

If people die or Kurt turns out to be V and takes Violet hostage, consider it my fault *sigh*

Ah, don't sweat it. We needed to send something and at least we've trimmed a potential page or so of people (myself included, natch) suggesting and arguing about email content out of this thread

Besides, Kurt isn't V, Scarlett is. what? Isn't it obvious to anyone else?

alright, well hopefully nothing bad will happen..but we should fomulate a response if Violet asks how we know Salk was snooping around the library........

could we lie and say his wife has had some contact with a Earth person and said he was spending time there?

Yeah, that sounds like a good excuse; it has to be an individual who Violet doesn't really know i.e. The Sentinel wouldn't be a suitable source because Violet can read that, but she can't read Sylvia's email.

Hm, just had a thought - it was Salk's brother who replied to us from Sylvia's email address because she was grieving, so perhaps he would be a more appropriate person to say contacted us....

And I sent one too, just after my post above, with the symbol attached saying, and I quote:

I would guess so, and there's no direct evidence of the symbol there, she'd have to work out the maze etc. so perhaps less evident link between the two, until she sees what Pietro was researching.

It is also worth rembering that she is now in a potentially hazardous situation and that The Advisor warned Salk he wasn't safe from observers in the Academy (although, if that observer was Violet, I guess I shouldn't care!). Morally we should warn her.

Not entirely sure where that came from...morals? Hah!
