started this thread for any info on "Afan" that we come across.

heres the ip address & email headers from argtalk.
nslookup and tracert havn't yielded anything usefull yet.

run the ip here: http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm


If you use the IP posted on the ARGTalk website, you find that Afan is from Birmingham, England

if you use the one from the img file you dont find anything
unless you do the 209.190.4.202 in which case you get Ohio.

alright, new info,

so i pinged both the claimed ip and the img ip (62 and 64) and the img ip returned packets but the claimed ip did not. hmmm. I did a search ona different locator, and the IP on the image (the 64 one) is apparently from white plains new york.

The mailserver vsmtp12.tin.it [ip 212.216.176.206] took the message from the client and delivered it to gmail.
According to that server the message came from 307615a5.3d7ab5b6.1e6a17d0.28a85a1bX

I have no idea how to translate that to an IP though.. Embarassed
