Well, well

Some of the dates are of kidnappings, some famous, some not. I have not been able to find a kidnapping story for each and every date, so this is speculation right now.

What I have so far for each stamp/story:

Quote:
New Jersey - Known as "Little Eaglet" all across America. Charles, Jr., the first child of Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, was kidnapped from the Lindberghs' Sourland Mountain estate in New Jersey on March 1, 1932.

Missouri - The FBI investigated the September 28, 1953, abduction of Robert Cosgrove Greenlease, Jr.

Colorado - Coors had been abducted and murdered February 9, 1960 by Joseph Corbett, Jr. in an apparent attempt to kidnap Coors and hold him for ransom of $500,000.

Arizona - I am portraying Larcena Pennington, who was kidnapped by the Apaches from Madera Canyon on March 16, 1860, at age 22, lanced in the back by them several times, pushed over a ravine and left for dead,"

California (1) - On February 4, 1974, the Symbionese Liberation Army, kidnapped 19 year old Berkeley history major and newspaper heiress Patricia Hearst.

California (2) - On this day in 1926, evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson vanishes while visiting a beach in Venice, California; she will reappear a month later, claiming to have been kidnapped. Skeptical observers say it is far more likely that she simply "vanished into thin air and then miraculously reappeared."

Illinois - September 25, 1937: Ross kidnapped by Seadlund and Gray at Franklin Park, Illinois.

"IIL Centenario Di Propaganda Fide" - It was also on this date, June 23, 1858, that 6-year-old Edgardo Mortara was kidnapped from his Jewish parents in Bologna, Italy, by agents of the Inquisition, under the Dominican Father (Pier Gaetano) Feletti.

I'm only missing a couple, but I'm willing to bet that the pattern is the same for those as well.
