[SPEC] Unforums/immersion not OOG? I was just thinking about this, and since this game is a little werid as it incorporates an ARG website, is it possible that nothing is OOG in this game? would it be legit for the PM of this game use OOG forums as in game?

I'm just going to kindly point you to the META section of the UF forums, where we have discussed this to death here (and elsewhere. Just search), while I once again reiterate that Unfiction and its forums are out of game and PMs that attempt to use UF as in game by posting as characters will most likely be called out by the administration and quite possibly banned. Not to mention the piles of angst-ridden messages from the players that will most likely arise should UF be considered "in game".
Thank you, and enjoy your games.

Well since this is not a game it should be ok for them to post here, right?

It's like watching an actor in a movie, and then the actor walks into the cinema hall and starts acting out his role. Everyone will ask him to shut up and let us enjoy the movie..
Doesn't make a difference if he's acting the role of an actor in the movie itself, which he is in real life. Nobody is interested in what he has to say until the movie is over!
EDIT: To clarify, just as a meta movie about an actor playing an actor in the movie shouldn't stand in front of the audience audience, a meta arg about an arg playing an arg etc. should not be allowed to post in the forums.

I think tsondie's point was that ARGTalk is *specifically* playing the line of "No honestly it's really not a game please believe us look it's real." As such, they would be posting in OOG sources if it really *were* real. I can see that perspective too. But then, it *is* against the rules. There hasn't been anything blatantly obvious yet, anyway.

That's rather interesting. In this case, it seems like Unfiction is kind of in-game, at least in the sense that the characters are aware of its existence. How can they not be? oldtim3r mentioned the ARGtalk section of the forum on his blog. However, he also said that none of the in-game characters will ever post here, since ARGtalk doesn't want the identities of its contributors to be revealed. So it seems that all is well in terms of UF rules, although I'm a bit uncertain about the IG/OOG state of our posts here. Presumably, the characters (at least the ones who are familiar with ARGs) can read them in an IG way, and that's kind of disturbing.
[edit] Please don't kill me. I love you all.

I have a feeling {and I hope I'm correct} that the PMs will respect that the info posted here is out of game knowledge and not use it in game. I play other forms of role playing games, and I hate when a GM uses OOG info in game {locally, we call it VELVETA - so cheesey it's not even real cheese anymore}.
