is it just me, or has the library access gone down??
Seems to be up still from what I can tell. The page still automatically informs you that you're not a valid user or it's not a valid book though. No searching for now. Maybe soon...

Now who wants to email Violet and get the document code for this book?

something else i noticed:
Quote:
'''I've heard your prejudice. Cubes are no better than Pyramids or Spheres.'''
The Cube is the perfect, stable object. It symbolizes equality and freedom, without boundaries.
so, wait, there are other cultist shapes? Or there were in the past? We've heard of the game of pyramid, which could be a hearkening back to old dogma, maybe.
and, more fFun with the cult and scriptures:
Quote:
* '''For does not the Cube show us the way in building, and was not Gyvann himself a builder and shall we not then build? Let us, therefore, build. And they built a great fortress, yet by the power of the Cube it was toppled to the ground, and they built a mighty tower, yet by the power of the Cube it was utterly removed, thus they built a lowly shack and it was good.'''
Wait! i've heard that one! Sister fFlynnt quoted it just last week in order to *support* the idea of constructing in the old town. er, so, wait, this scripture suggests, really, to *not* build! ahhhhh .. good to know they misinterpret their scriptures, too.

Or they at least interpret it as is convenient to whatever cause they need to justify. Modus operendi for many religions, unfortunately.

Celebrating the Syzygy hmmm...? We do know of EVERYONE who was involved in the Pre-Game Project Syzygy? Maybe Sente's a cubehead!

Interesting - what with all this spec on whether or not the City falling apart = a direct result of the Cube's removal - that the Brotherhood (and offshoots like the Recons) place so much metaphysical emphasis on the Cube being related to building.
Of course, we can read this emphasis metaphorically - like the Masons, the Brotherhood recognise in the Cube a perfect geometrical shape, upon which the vast majority of actual construction work can be based, so, literally, it embodies something spiritually that can be seen to be the essence of building *practically*.
Clearly, the Brotherhood do revere the Cube in much the way I once speculated: it is a physical embodiment of what they see as the structure supporting the Universe and, as such, directly connected to the ineffable.

I seem to recollet way back near the beginning of all this we got an email from Sente with a strange quote on the bottom. Could this be something penned by Gyvann? It sounds very similar in style. Maybe Sente is a believer in the Brotherhood of the Six.

I wonder if they'll have any events in the near future. The closest to now seems to be Sept. 9th (anything interesting/religous happening here on 9/9/05?)

Heh, I get the feeling that someone from MC followed the timecube link when it was posted a few months back on this forum and deliberatley tried to ape the site. Gave me a good laugh, though sadly the timecube guy is far more nutty and unintentionally funny.
As for the library access Lee, I guess it can't be long now until this goes live.
Oh, and notice that Sister April Flyntt has the same last name as the person who gave Pietro Salk's eulogy - Sister Golda Flyntt. Not sure what relevance this might have but it's worth noting.

I noticed that once I figured out that she was not Salk's sister - teach me to skip read stuff. I figured initially that Flynnt was like a significant part to the Brotherhood religion like Gyvann is to the Recons (ooh double n fixation).
Though the Brotherhood have mentioned Gyvann in their site I still think Flynnt like the original Brother. Two points - it's called the Brotherhood and their are only Sisters so far? Shouldn't be Sisterhood?
Are the Salk's members of the Brotherhood? If not why would there be someone like that reading the Eulogy? Friends? Maybe they are related but when Golda joined she does what all the religious do and change name?

He doesnt seem the religious type. I have no evidence fFor this, but I think he probably wasnt heavily religious, no.

Well, lots of people have religious fFolk at their fFunerals, regardless of what the person actually believes. It's sort of ... the thing to do. not so terribly weird.
What *is* kind of noteworthy is the fFact that Pietro had a fFlynnt do the sermon. He was so connected .. you fFigure in a city with a fFew million citizens, people die all the time. so fFor a high profile sister like fFlynnt to do it, means Pietro was much loved by the community.

I agree but this is what doesn't make sense to me. Having the Sister Flynnt there is like having a Bishop (a guess?) at the funeral. Now there is no indication who actually did the ceremony so was it Sister Flynnt? Or did she just read the Eulogy?
Also if there are similar to our church here on Earth then why do they seem like a cult rather than a mainstream religion? That website of theirs seems to come across as cultists rather than mainstream?
Just doesn't seem to make sense.

weelllll..... personally .. since you brought it up and all catholocism and the military both seem like cults to me. It's all perspective I think. I don't really think there's actually anything inherently wrong with a cult, anyway. I wouldnt join one myself, but .. eh .. I'm fFor whatever gets you through the night.

I was under the impression that the Cubeheads were a parody of Scientologists.

That's what i thought - so would your family invite a scientologist to read your eulogy. Only if you were a major contributor or were good friends.
I am just focussing on an extremely unrelated point I bet. I'll just have to focus my attention elsewhere.
