I received an email from Julia Blackwolf today. It's very strange. Did anyone else get anything from Julia? Here it is.

Hi.

My name's Julia Thorne Blackwolf, I think you might know me, my mom is Senator Jennifer Blackwolf. I'm emailing you because I... well, I found your address on my computer. Sometime yesterday my usual wallpaper was replaced by just a white graphic, and your email address in weird font. I'll attach it to this email.

Can I ask you something? Why would your address be on my wallpaper? Do I know you or something? Or maybe you know my parents? I'm sorry if this was just a false spam, you know, caused by ads or something. I'm just curious.

Thanks in advance,
***Julia Blackwolf***

Someone wanna check the wingdings at the bottom? I've been given something by Adam Fritz which seems to be a pretty major update. I'll post it after I've finished.

Aaand, a lot of updates. I'll try to break this down a bit.

08/07/05
Email from Adam Fritz, giving clues about Sigma, and attaching an image of the website. No more information.

09/07/05
MSN chat with Adam Fritz, which gave us a lot of new information. It's all under a spoiler tag here.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Adam says:
Mr. Denby. I trust that you received my recent email?
Lewis says:
i did, yes
Adam says:
Anything new you have dug up?
Lewis says:
no, alas
Lewis says:
Any pointers?
Adam says:
I do not know. You see, most of my sources have decided to keep mum once they learnt I was no longer on the Fatemaker cleanup.
Adam says:
However, this very weakly website may be of use to you. http://bterminal3.t35.com
Adam says:
*very weakly protected. Excuse the error.
Lewis says:
It's okay
Lewis says:
Yes, that's the website I was looking for
Adam says:
A very rare attempt by our friends at the Bureau to provide external contact.
Lewis says:
You're right, *very* weakly protected.
Lewis says:
I hope you don't mind my gaining access here. It's amost as if you wanted me to find your user/pass combination
Adam says:
If it's there, then it's yours.
Adam says:
I don't mind. In fact, I don't even need it.
Lewis says:
thank you
Adam says:
I'm sorry, I did not get that. Please repost.
Lewis says:
I just said thank you
Lewis says:
What is the Episolon Program?
Adam says:
I cannot say for sure. All it says is that it is continuing the ongoing research of Project Fatemaker... but sadly for everyone, Bureau officials are never, ever precise or specific in their words.
Lewis says:
I see
Lewis says:
Well I'm looking around the site now. Is there anything specific you'd like me to see?
Adam says:
I would like you to just explore. Any questions you have I will try to answer, and in return I would like to hear what you think is happening.
Lewis says:
To be honest, we're all stumped. As you know, I have been brought into this through my acquaintance with John Walker, or 'botherer' as he calls himself. There are a number of people following this case, and no-one seems to know what's going on. We know there were thirty subjects originally, and now there are only a small number of them. We assume that the rest are missing.
Lewis says:
Now, as SixDoorsAgo's initial email said, there seems to be a conspiracy of some sorts.
Lewis says:
But what this is, we are not sure.
Lewis says:
Besides, if you are telling the truth, SDA is not to be trusted anyway.
Adam says:
Yes, but the question remains... am I to be trusted?
Lewis says:
Only you can answer that. Mr. Fritz, the fact that I am talking to you now, and the fact that you have provided me with your Fatemaker login, makes me think you are at least slightly trustworthy.
Adam says:
Ah. Yes. I'd really like to find out what happened to Subjects 13-30. They fascinate me. I can't imagine why anybody in the Bureau would let them stay alive.
Lewis says:
Why so?
Adam says:
Well, if every single Subject had to be killed, why not numbers 13-30?
Lewis says:
What happened to 1-12?
Adam says:
Every single one of them have been terminated by yours truly, except for the ones that elude me. 6, 7, 2 and 12.
Lewis says:
Why do they need to be killed? Why have you killed them?
Lewis says:
And why does SDA want them alive?
Adam says:
Fatemaker was compromised by SDA. He 'rescued' them. Project parameters require that nothing ever is leaked out. I was, and still am, merely doing my job.
Adam says:
As to why SDA would want to keep a bunch of guinea pigs alive, I wouldn't know. Maybe he's grown a paternal instinct.
Lewis says:
What *is* Fatemaker?
Lewis says:
I think everyone has avoided that question long enough.
Adam says:
Did I not tell you the last time we talked?
Lewis says:
Not as such.
Lewis says:
You were cryptic about it.
Adam says:
Fatemaker is about twelve (though originally 30) people. These twelve are not ordinary people. They are genetic duplications... clones, if you prefer the vulgar term... of very, very big people. The plan was to remake them in teenage form, and allow them to live in a controlled environment for 10 years, to see if they would end up the way the originals did.
Lewis says:
You mentioned clones before, but didn't say much else.
Lewis says:
Interesting.
Adam says:
Like cloning Bill Gates then putting him in a stable environment, just to see if he'd end up as the world's richest man had the conditions differed.
Lewis says:
Is Bill Gates one of the subjects?
Lewis says:
The clone of him, I mean
Adam says:
No, but it would have given me immense satisfaction to terminate him.
Lewis says:
Ah, I don't know. Microsoft don't deserve half the stick they get.
Lewis says:
But anyway.
Lewis says:
So Fatemaker is complete, and you're now terminating the subjects.
Lewis says:
But why was the research happening in the first place? Isn't human genetic research to that level illegal?
Adam says:
Of course it is. But who'd care when nobody'd know?
Lewis says:
You have no morals, then, Mr. Fritz?
Adam says:
I would prefer to think that I did. But hey, I only kill for my job.
Lewis says:
Who is involved in Project Fatemaker
Lewis says:
is there anyone else I could get in touch with?
Lewis says:
To find the subjects or anything?
Adam says:
Project Leader for Fatemaker is 22. Aside from that, they are only names with no faces.
Lewis says:
I see.
Adam says:
I wonder why the Bureau are so interested in removing me from the Fatemaker cleanup.
Lewis says:
I see you've had your security clearance decreased
Adam says:
Hmmm? How so?
Lewis says:
"You are not authorized to access the intranet terminal, or access several higher classification accounts. The account that sanctioned you was 22."
Lewis says:
use of the word 'sanctioned' implies that to me.
Adam says:
Oh. I haven't been there for quite awhile. This is... interesting.
Lewis says:
Indeed
Lewis says:
anyway, I must go.
Lewis says:
I shall talk to you again after having a browse
Lewis says:
Good evening.
Adam says:
Yes.

The chat gave us this: http://bterminal3.t35.com - a storage database used to protect (albeit poorly) information about Project Fatemaker.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A quick check of the source gives us
user: adamfritz
pass: firstoneout

This takes us to a deep hub of information, the best bit being this information about Fatemaker
, and this profile of Adam Fritz. I'll be damned if the background image isn't a puzzle, so I've attached it below. Also, there's an area called Epsilon Program, which Adam has had his access restricted to.

We also find out, upon logging in, the following:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You are not authorized to access the intranet terminal, or access several higher classification accounts. The account that sanctioned you was 22.

I asked Adam about this in the above chat, and he seemed as surprised as I was.

Anyway, make what you will of all this. Like I said, possible puzzle below.

Total speculation here:

ADAM: First man
FRITZ... change it to FIRZT... a corruption of First.

Adam is a duplication too! He is Adam, the first human! haha (didn't he say "ver, very big people were duplicated" or something?)
Makes sense in a sick way.

Has anyone decoded the fonts on my email? They seem to be a mixture of 2 or 3 different font sets. I found this http://www.alanwood.net/demos/wingdings.html

Which gives the Hex values of the fonts. If you plug those into a Hex decoder it translates to english. I'm working on it now.

Ok the message reads:

Jenna Sweet must be captured. Julia, you can do this for us

While viewing the source for http://bterminal3.t35.com/epsilon1.html, I found this message:
Quote:
Are you... really working with the Bureau? I doubt it. Contact me, on MSN. My address is diffusiondetectedSPLAThotmail.com

I'm not really sure what to contact him about though.

I'm also not sure what to make of the "anomalous logs" on http://bterminal3.t35.com/flaggedlogs.html

Anyone got any ideas?

Good find. I checked the source on every page with a substancial amount of contact on, but left that one because it was practically empty. Foolish moi.

I'll have a think about the contacting, too.

(How many players on this one, now? Enough to warrant a new folder?)

WHY DOES THE SIGMA SITE SAY THERE ARE FIVE SUBJECTS ALIVE??

Wasn't it four? 2, 6, 7 and 12 - four!

Wah: File repository.

I asked SDA what he meant by this. His reply was "just somewhere I dump files."

And it actually took this long to click: fildumpbSPLATgmail.com

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And, of course, a new message there:

Well, as I previously said, here is the 'photo evidence'.

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b198/sixdoorsago/subject2.jpg

This boy is named Gary Enabled (don't ask about the name). He is
probably more familiar as Subject 2. He is very interested to have a
chat with you all one day, perhaps on my future Yahoo! account.

Okay, wingdings translate to:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Jenna Sweet must be captured. Julia. You can do this for us.

I'm not sure what the three things at the top are. I've tried anagrams and rotations but nothing's jumping out at me.

Meanwhile, another chat with Adam:

Code:
Click here to view your entire conversation history with this contact
Adam says:
Anything new?
Lewis says:
We found an MSN address.
Adam says:
An... MSN address..?
Lewis says:
diffusiondetectedSPLAThotmail.com.  It was hidden in the source code of the Epsilon 'access denied' page
Adam says:
That's 22's!
Lewis says:
it is?
Adam says:
Yes, why is he posting it there?
Lewis says:
It was encrypted into the site with a message to "contact me at this address on MSN" or something
Lewis says:
I presumed it was intended for you to find.
Adam says:
I'm not so sure. Ever since 22 started getting more hands-on... my grasp on Fatemaker has decreased significantly.
Lewis says:
Do you get on with 22?
Adam says:
I do not understand the question.
Lewis says:
Are you friendly with him?
Adam says:
No. He meddles with my affairs.
Adam says:
He speaks of "limits" and "restrictions". He is naught more than a glorified scientific businessman.
Lewis says:
I see.
Lewis says:
So he wouldn't have wanted *you* to find that address, probably.
Lewis says:
Especially since you already knew it
Adam says:
I agree.
Lewis says:
Any ideas?
Adam says:
An event is imminent: SixDoorsAgo's newest blog post.
Lewis says:
This is new
Adam says:
I love hearing "Adam is going to kill me." It so makes me sound like a psychopathic villain.
Lewis says:
Must have been updated in the last five minutes
Lewis says:
Were you planning to kill him?
Adam says:
No, I don't even know where he is.
Lewis says:
Then what is 22 talking about? And, moreover, why is he in contact with SDA?
Adam says:
I hate bureaucracy, don't you? It's so grating to have to go through so many layers to get to something.
Adam says:
To be honest, however, I know nothing on what is meant there except that I might know what the event is.
Lewis says:
What do you think the event is?
Adam says:
Well, in a little while I need several people to get rid of *incriminating evidence*. The problem is, there are many copies of it.
Lewis says:
I see.
Lewis says:
While we're talking, one of my contacts received this via email: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/files/dashcat_100.jpg

The wingdings at the bottom translate to: "Jenna Sweet must be captured. Julia. You can do this for us."
Adam says:
Ah.
Adam says:
Who's Julia?
Lewis says:
I presume the message refers to Julia Blackthorne, daughter of the senator Blackthorn.
Lewis says:
*Blackthorne, sorry
Adam says:
Senator Jennifer Blackwolf's daughter, Julia... Nothing I can see out of that.
Adam says:
I am, however, disturbed by the use of the name Jenna Sweet.
Lewis says:
Blackwolf
Lewis says:
sorry
Adam says:
No problem.
Lewis says:
My general knowledge is terrible, I must say.  But anyway... why disturbed?
Adam says:
Jenna Sweet is Subject 6. And as I have told everyone countless times, the identities of the Subjects are so very hard to find, let alone attempt to decrypt. The only record of their names is on a file somewhere deep, deep in the Bureau, and I'm not even sure Leadership members would have access to that.
Adam says:
Well... Remember when I said that each Subject was copied from a very, very prominent person in the world? There is no such name for Jenna Sweet. I have not heard of the name, and neither has research yielded anything.
Lewis says:
So what does this tell us?
Adam says:
Either she - that is the original - isn't famous (unlikely), she is protected (possibly)... or that isn't her original name.
Adam says:
But then again, from what I know, the Subjects's names are all corruptions of the originals' names.
Adam says:
For example, Tony Blair = Phony Bear.
Lewis says:
I see.
Lewis says:
But Jenna Sweet leads to nothing?
Adam says:
I have heard the name somewhere, I cannot recall it.
Lewis says:
I see
Lewis says:
I've checked anagrams.  There's no-one famous that it brings up.
Adam says:
IMDB, Wikipedia brings nothing either.
Adam says:
Damn it, I know the name! But where?
Lewis says:
If there's anything you can think of, let me know, won't you?
Adam says:
I will, if the opportunity arises.
Lewis says:
http://bterminal3.t35.com/sub_bkgd_adarea.gif -- we also found this.  On your accout profile at the Fatemaker hub
Lewis says:
It's the background image
Lewis says:
If you notice, there's a very faint outline of something
Lewis says:
Brightened, it turns into what looks like a puzzle of some sorts
Lewis says:
any ideas?
Adam says:
Hm.
Adam says:
None.
Adam says:
Puzzles are not my forte.
Lewis says:
Did you set up your own profile page?
Adam says:
No.
Adam says:
I wouldn't call myself "aggressive and instable" would I?
Lewis says:
Point taken.
Lewis says:
Do you think whoever set it up - 22 perhaps? - would have encoded any sort of puzzles or clues into the website?
Lewis says:
After all, he left his MSN address for all to see
Lewis says:
if they were crafty enough that is
Adam says:
You may be onto something. Yes, it seems exactly like what that twisty snake would do.
Lewis says:
Really...
Lewis says:
hmm
Adam says:
I have been trying very hard to find the identities of the Subjects, and the one I did find was not even a real name.
Lewis says:
Whose?
Adam says:
6, Jenna Sweet.
Lewis says:
Ah, right, sorry.
Lewis says:
Yes.
Adam says:
Now, I will have to leave.
Adam says:
We will be in contact very soon.
Lewis says:
Yes
Lewis says:
Thank you.

And an update at SDA:

Quote:
An Event Is Imminent.

I just got off the phone with 22.
We had a chat about old friends.
He mentioned 'Adam Fritz'.
I asked who he was.
He told me that if I continued my 'protection' of the Subjects, Adam is going to kill me.

I don't doubt that. Let him try.

Let us make sense of it.

I sent an email to diffusiondetectedSPLAThotmail.com late last night, and I decided not to post anything until I got a reply. Well, this morning I got one:

Because you're not, aren't you?
If you can get my email address, that would only mean two things: You
destegged the postcard where I revealed my contact information...

or Adam Fritz has given you a link to a website you're not supposed to see.

And I would know, of course. I am the Bureau. Let me introduce myself. My

I didn't say 'us' because I didn't want to make him suspicious. I'm not exactly sure how to go about this, so I'm taking a very delicate, cautious approach. I hope this yields some useful and interesting information.

Um... I posted the solve to the wingdings about 5 posts up.

Your convos with Adam are very interesting. Jenna Sweet is the young clone of Senator Blackwolf. The Senator's nickname is SenJen. So we missed the fact that the postcard was stegged. Darn

I sent this email in reply to Julia's email to me"

Hello Julia,

As far as I know we have never met. I have no idea how or why my email
address appeared on your computer. Do you know what the message in the
attachment says? I decoded it. Have you?

Dashcat

I received this reply this morning:

I didn't realize there was a message inside. Are you meaning the smilie faces and all?
You decoded it? Can you tell me what it said, please? Maybe I can like help tell you what I think it means

So there's really something weird going on? :p Laura told me it was all a joke by some kid at school.

***Julia Blackwolf***

So I sent this:

Hi Julia,

The message reads "Jenna Sweet must be captured. Julia, you can do this for us". Jenna is your new friend, right? Do you have any idea who wants you to 'capture' her and why? This is all very mysterious to me. I'm still wondering why my email address was on your computer. Please let me know if this means anything to you. Thanks Julia,

Dash

Hmmm.

Anybody talked to 22 yet? It's interesting to note that of all the factions *fighting* to get to the Subjects, Adam and 22 are so willing to be contacted, but SDA remains silent as a wall.

So, Subject 2 and Subject 6 have been identified? Grrrrr that's going to make such a mess to update the wiki. Anyhow... wonder what the event that Adam talked about is. And seeing that SDA apparently doesn't know who Adam is, there is a possibility that there might be 2 events.

Edit: Lewis, do you mean the three top things at the attachment Julia Blacwolf sent to Dashcat? I see nothing but dearjuliathorneb,,,

Ok, since there is no META thread this will have to do Smile

Just to make sure everyone knows this, Lewis sent this URL to Adam:

That's an easy mistake to make but you have to remember that UF is OOG and doesn't exist for our characters. They can't come here so it doesn't do much good to direct them here. We always need to find another way to get the info to the characters.
