[SOLVED][PUZZLE] Sevene Deedly Synnes

On Helen's site there is an update, that being a little scrap of paper she found.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
After googling the phrase 'sevene deedly synnes' (weird spelling and all!) I got this! Hurray!

http://www.librarius.com/cantales/parstl03.htm

Here's the VERY rough translations of the Latin phrases on the page, thanks to my slight knowledge of a dead language (why?) and online translators:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Sequitur de septem peccatis mortalibus et eorum dependenciis, circumstanciis, et speciebus = Basically 'Following the seven deadly mortal sins and their results?'

De Superbia = About Pride

Remedium contra peccatum Superbie = Remedy For the Sin Arrogance

and so on and so forth...

EDIT: Topic heading. --Phaedra

The Canterbury Tales...

I once heard my English teacher recite the intro from memory. It's quite impressive, and I remember hoping I'd never have to read it.

Damnit.

LOL -- I had to write a response to The Prioress' Tale in Middle English and matching verse in college. Once you get into the groove, it's rather fun. I'm all for bringing the verb "swive" back into regular usage.

That said, you don't actually have to read it in Middle English. There are plenty of contemporary "translations" out there.

In principle, of course, I disapprove, but not when it's for an ARG rather than a class. Wink

Obviously the Seven were each grabbed to be cleansed of a different one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Which one was Amanda guilty of? Well, she drank and smoked a LOT!
