I've tried every combination of this in the Salk logs for "Our Song" and didn't get anywhere.

Heart and Soul

Isn't "Heart and Soul"' a duet? I always played it as a duet with my sisters.

I like the idea that this could be Sylvia and Pietro's song. It reminded me of several comments that always stood out to me in her post on the Salk website:

Quote:
My heart has stopped beating, and still, here I am. I'm breathing. I'm alive. How can you live without a heart?

and again

Quote:
How do you continue living when your heart has stopped beating?

If their favorite song's Earth-based I'm going to start agreeing with Ernestine Kohler here.

I don't think it would be, if only because I can't see a song special to the heart of the star journalist from the rabidly anti-Sente Sentinel being included in Sente's special project.

numbers

It's not just dots... There is a number on each dot, and their in numeric order. So it's really not that difficult. The difficulty lies in that it's a curved arrow pointing at the piano.

For those still trying to work out how the entertainer example works - it is part of the descending run introduction into the song rather than the song itself...

Which goes (in the key of C)...
D E C A B G
then octave lower, D E C A B G
then octave lower D E C A B A Aflat G.....Octave up G!

Note 6 is just plain wrong on the example (points to A but should be G)

This is a handy site for searching for tunes
http://www.multimedialibrary.com/barlow/solfeggio.asp

You just enter the notes in sequence. But it only works for classical music.
Does anyone know of a similar site for more popular stuff?

Another one is http://www.musipedia.org/melodic_contour.0.html which also allows you to enter as uuddud (just up or down each time), which can be useful.

But it still doesn't give this Carmichael song!

Any other such sites, anyone?

Once again, I thank God and the internet for giving us this group of smart people.
I went cross-eyed atring at this one, plunking about on an old casio keyboard, and three Frappuccino's later, I just caved in and searched here.
Ya'll rock!

THANK YOU UNFORUMS!!!
