[ARG?] Fight off your demons I really have no idea if this is going to turn out to be a game or not, but I just have to get the word out there to the unforums.
Brand New (a great band) relaunched their website a couple weeks ago, and the new URL became fightoffyourdemons.com
The site is now full of a ton of pictures that are mostly of the band, but a lot of them make no sense at all. That along with the most recent news update really makes it seem like there's a puzzle here.
Anyways, check it out and let me know what you think.

[edit] Well, that forum is called Potential ARGs... doesn't that mean we should post something we think could be an ARG in there?

Oh wow.
*is so in love with Brand New its sad*
I don't have a lot to contribute, I am pretty new to the whole ARGing thing, mostly just a voyer, but wow...
I know every single lyric ever written by them, if that helps...heh.
Anyways, all the caps in the news are:
WEREHAVRYIFEDYHESOORUHTOTHERLD
Which, I have no clue what that means. Heh. Maybe it's the lowercase that means something? Also, isn't it supposed to be gun, not volcano?
EDIT: Also, maybe the fact that the link 'ONE' leads to picture 25, two to 37, ect. Means something?

Yeah, that's another thing I noticed when the site first went up. All the numbers correspond to completely different things in the URL.
And I totally love Brand New too.

*seriously thought she was alone in the Brand New love* Yay! Heh
But I have tried running those letters through the ROT, an Anagram finder (though I can't find one that accepts words long enough) and the other, with the key word of WERE and got squat. I think I am too dumb for this. Hee

This just looks like a copy of what's going on at www.radiohead.com ... although it could be something.

Hmm. You're probably right, with the whole demons thing and all. That opens up a whole new load of questions, though.

No, it doesn't. From the description of the Potential ARGs forum:
Quote:
This forum is for miscellaneous burgeoning games with the potential to grow. These are games that, while not yet warranting their own unique section, are not simply news and/or rumors. Please refer to the posting guidelines contained herein and continue to post new discoveries to the News & Rumors forum only.
As this is a new discovery, it belongs in News & Rumors. If it turns into something bigger, it can be moved to Potential ARGs and/or into gain a forum of its own.

Nope. You're definitely not alone in the Brand New love. I'll be keeping my eye on this site/thread for sure.
edit: Also, the volcano thing is an obvious reference to Full Metal Jacket, I think. It's just a variation of the whole, "This is my rifle..." thing.

I knew it had something to do with guns...hee.
*still puzzled over the maybe-not code in the news, though*
Edit: Er..I am the only one that noticed that the 'street' link requests a code word? For some reason the link was broken last night..(maybe it was just me..)
Edit the Second: Nevermind, I'm dumb. Signed up and got the codeword.

PGP??? So, first off. Hello to all. Complete and total n00b to ARG. Knew of them, but never really explored them till now. Anyways, lurking on the board I saw that this is a possible ARG. Since I am illiterate in the ARG world I am now paranoid and think every single website out there is an ARG..... google... I'm on to you!!!
Anyways, exploring fightoffyourdemons.com to see if maybe i can make a rookie discovery. Found a website for shacamerica.net among the photos.... and wondering what a pgp key is? the frontpage of shacamerica shows a pgp key and it's all code, i've tried hunting down the software needed view the code, but too paranoid to download it... any ideas? suggestions???

Yeah, that would be "has," not "have."
And yes, that's obvious. A lot of bands have their sites redesigned to promote new albums, but they don't make their news updates a bunch of nonsensible crap. They don't make the main page center around numbered pictures that don't coincide with the url.
Just go away.
