[QUESTION] What do we do with the answers?

You're quite right - there is going to be an online system where you can enter your card number, along with your solution, winning yourself Perplex Points and earning yourself a place on a leaderboard "thingy." I'd expect this to go live in the next few days as the cards go on sale more widely.

As far as you concerns for the leaderboard go, I think they're only partly justified. Believe it or not, if and when PPC breaks into the mainstream, many people who buy the cards will not possess the same "I'll Google to see if I can find the answer" instinct that us ARGers do. Indeed (fingers crossed) lots of people will buy the cards just for the fun of the puzzles and the satisfaction of a personal solve. If these people (and I'm thinking "crossword / sudoku types", here) have an interest in the leaderboard is another matter. Nonetheless, I'm sure there'll be a few campers who take great satisfaction in nicking all the solves from the Wiki and getting an unfeasibly high number of points. Good luck to them - at least they'll still have to buy lots of cards!

There may be additional ways in which we can "use" the solutions, something which has been the subject of a fair bit of speculation. Already, there's a number of meta-puzzles that may provide additional information to the Receda Cube Search. This interview with Adrian Hon (who is part of the team behind the game) has a few nods in that direction.
