[Puzzle] Black #208 Freak Word It's what Robbie Williams does to unwind after a long concert. Kylie Minogue wants to become the face of it. Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Madonna and the Queen of England are said to be huge fans of it. It's hardly suprising that Scrabble(R) has been a worldwide phenomenon since its launch 67 years ago and is now enjoying a resurgance of popularity

I can make 30 with UNFASTENS (assuming we are using the board and not just those letters). Any better?
Surely there's another level to this?

I can get... Umm, I think it's 102 (including the 50 word bonus for using all tiles) (you get 13 for the tiles, there are 2 double word score tiles, so that's 52, +50 bonus... I think that's right )
I can't see anything bigger, and I know all the 2 and 3 letter words, and have a page reference for 4 letters... I think that's the best..
Jeb
EDIT: hah! i didn't say the word!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
AUBERGINES from the A in PAIRER, going down, uses all tiles

erm... talking of puzzles within puzzles, has anyone noticed that hardly any of the words on the board are actualy legal scrabble words? Do we need to look more closely at the letters on the board perhaps?

Um ... yeah. Actually, all of the words on the board are actually legal Scrabble words -- except one: VITIL. So, while you may have to reexamine your lexicon, you also may have a valid point here.

Actually - you got 110 not 102.
You may not have seen the double letter score for the g. letters were 15 points, double twice = 60 at the fifty = 110
That is, of course, if you count both double word scores, i don't really know the rules too well. With a brain like that I trust you do.
Still beats my 26 for

You don't get to re-use the bonus of squares, you just get the tile value.
it's 13 value for the whole word, then double word to 26, then double word to 52, then 50 bonus for using all the tiles.. 102

I'm not exactly sure what "official" is ... does that do for Indonesian too?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Aubergine is an eggplant in England, so i'd go with that...

Not sure if this helps, but a Google search pulled up this page:

Where the above mentioned answer is used in a Scrabble game in a similar manner to this puzzle, note the book title/puzzle title tie-in.
