Maybe...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1. blue-cream (?)
2. point
3. Himalayan

...which is probably the cat's breed: a blue-cream point Himalayan Persian.

Totally agree on 2 and 3. Cool=blue I can see, but what about "teach" and "mixed candy"?

Here are other Himalayan colors, which I also cannot mesh with the hints and most of which do not have nine letters:

chocolate, seal, lilac, blue, red, cream tortie, blue-cream, chocolate-tortie, lilac-cream, seal lynx, blue lynx, red lynx, cream lynx, tortie lynx, blue-cream lynx, chocolate lynx, lilac lynx, chocolate-tortie lynx and lilac-cream lynx.

I'm gonna go with ...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Chocolate point himalayan. Chocolate seems to fFit the clue better, and milo there looks too dark to be blue-cream. And there isnt a thing Chocolate won't improve upon.

Originally, I was going to go with chocolate...but the dash in clue number 1 made me decide that perhaps there were two different words to be considered in that answer. Anyway, from there I said cool=blue (not sure where the "teach" comes in) and mixed candy=cream (for example, a chocolate assortment box, which tends to be mostly nasty old cream-filled things).

Which is why I put a big ol' question mark next to my answer. I can't get any of the 9-letter Himalayan colors to mesh, either! Razz

EDIT: Blue is a teaching language for programming: a little more info here.

Guys, you've definitely solved it. I'll explain the cryptic clues if you like:

1) cool, teach - mixed candy. Cool teach is "mixed" (ie anagrammed) to form chocolate, which is a definition of candy.

2) Pinnacle or initially, needles top. The first letters spell POINT, which is also a pinnacle, needle's top, etc.

3) In the mountains = Himalayas. Sounds like (homophone) he's a restin' - HIM A' LAYIN' (about on the porch, or wherever).

It's definitely CPH.
