 		[META?] Card Retailers Update
I just received an email from the Manager of Games of Berkeley (one of the PPC card retailers concernign the release of the cards.

I received an email today telling me they are on their way. I will receive 288 pkgs and will retail for approximately US$4.98?. Only 66 if the 256 puzzle cards are currently available. More will be available in the coming months.


Any other information from other locations other than PlayLounge?

 		These cards are pre-release ones, well the ones I bought from PlayLounge today...

at the top left above the ?ERPLEXITY sign it says
"Limited Edition Pre release wave 0.5"

 		Yes, I was just about to post this. I received an email from Pat at Games of Berkeley that they JUST got their cards this afternoon, and that they're retailing them for $4.98/pk, with a 10% discount if you buy a full box of 36 packs. They charge a flat shipping rate (as I found when I called to order some!), so I guess order as many as you can stand to. Wink

The only word from Toy Tokyo is that their store is closed until July 19 because they're all off at some comic convention. Bad timing there.

 		Is it just me, or does the whole "advance wave" thing smack of (yet again) not having finished, and covering their ass from more accusations of unprofessionalism.

 		I hate to say it, but yeah, I do. Don't get me wrong, I love Perplex City, I'm having a great deal of fun uncovering the mysteries. As soon as I heard the cards were at Games of Berkeley today, I headed down to pick some up.

Thing was, out of 5 packs, I got 18 original cards and 12 duplicates. Considering the first wave is just 66 cards, I guess this isn't too surprising. It's making me not want to buy any more, though, until they release the whole set.

The cards are lots of fun, though. Anyone know when the full set is going to be released?

 		I originally planned to buy 10 packs from PlayLounge today, but ended up buying 5, but luckily didn't have any duplicates, but only two new cards that havn't been mentioned, (I have uploaded one now, need to upload the silver one)...

 		I guess it's possible I just had bad luck. Still, with only 66 cards in this wave, it seems like there's going to be more duplicates than normal.

I'm definitely interested in trading cards, though. Maybe a forum or thread could be set up somewhere dealing with this. For myself, I figure there's got to at least be a few other players in the Games of Berkeley/San Francisco Bay Area.

yep, and its one hard puzzle, here's the link to it. Its basically a rubiks cube, but instead of colours it has letters, and you have to solve the rubiks cube so that each face spells 3 letter words horizontally and vertically...

I'm gonna rip the colours off my rubiks cube and replace them with those letters...LOL Laughing

I called Toy Tokyo and they said the cards are in and available from their website. Haven't had a chance to check myself, but I thought I would pass that along. They will be back on Tuesday if people want to wait til then. But they told me if I ordered today, the cards would go out tomorrow. As I live in Manhattan, I would probably get the cards on Saturday.

 		I'm agreeing with Jeb on this. I think the advanced wave is about pacing out the cards to last the game, not because the rest are unfinished.

As far as I know, no puzzle has managed to last out more than a month around here. It'd really suck if they were all released at the same time because we'd spend the last two-thirds of the game without much to do.

Um, so far this whole game has been about spending time doing nothing!
