Not exactly, there were two different trailheads, one being the code hidden in the movie posters, and during the credits to the movie

While we're trying to be accurate:

On April 12, the second trailer came out, and at the end of it, in the credits, was an entry:

Jeanine Salla, Sentient Machine Therapist

When this name was put into a Google search, that brought up a link to Bangalore World University. That was the start of "The Beast".

The New York City premiere of the film was June 6, 2001.

I stand corrected Laughing But, there was something on the back of the posters too wasn't there?

Posters: Posters for the movie A.I. were made that included the names/handles of the game participants (the Cloudmakers) who had registered at a specific site.

Trailers: There were two different trailers that contained pertinent information related to Trailheads -- one contained a puzzle that led to a phone number for Mother, and the other contained the Sentient Machine Therapist designation for in-game character Jeanine Salla. Images of screencaps from the trailer and TV spots can still be found at Cloudmakers-Moderated Yahoo group.

Movie Credits: The full cast/crew credits (can be found at IMDB) includes five Beast characters:

Quote:
Jeanine Salla .... Sentient Machine Therapist
Laia Salla .... Mr. Chan's Assistant
Diane Fletcher .... Sentient Machine Security
Kate Nei .... Toe Bell Ringing
Claude Gilbert .... Cybertronics - Room 93056
Red King .... Covert Information Retrieval

This was not a trailhead, as the game was fully underway by the time A.I. was released into theatres worldwide.

OH, see, here I thought the game ended before AI came to theaters - making it a pre-movie ad camp. misunderstood.

well it's entirly possible, although unlikly that this could be the start of a game.

the lack of responce to our calls though is odd, considering the nature of our callback requests.
Even if this were a personal/buisness # not related to an ARG or the movie, we should be hearing something... even one of us...

That leaves 3 possibilities to speculate:

1. This is someone's number, and this person has been battered with calls from movie goers, though this person must be clearing out his/her mailbox quickly to be keeping up with it... an impending lawsuit against the film makers is on the way. :p

2. (More likely) This is a number for someone related to the movie in some way. Possibly a mistake? Maybe an abandoned number? Or perhaps it was just put there, and the owner just doesn't want to hear us, threw the number in for realism, and is ignoreing our callback requests. Or mabey the number was just thrown in there to see who would actually be able to decipher it and actually call it?

3. (still possible but not likely) The owner is collecting our callback info and gathering a census on interest and "very analytical movie fanatic/ARGer types" A game is forethcomming or just being considered.
