Not that it's important but Reggie is around 29. (I remember someone asking about it).

Here is part of my talk with him. Mostly small talk but learn a bit more about him staying there.

geist_99: would you like me to send you the chess programme then?
xover222: sure!
geist_99: Ive not played it in years. Its ok but the computer never learns any new moves
xover222: good.
xover222: it will be fun to watch it play its patterns.
geist_99: do you like patterns?
xover222: i can find patterns in just about anything if i look long enough..
geist_99: Though you better check it though a virus scan. i dont want to get you into trouble incase there something wrong with it.
xover222: the library uses sophos it will scan for me.
geist_99: thats good. Hopfully it gives you something to do.
geist_99: I heard some of the people living with you are not that nice.
xover222: just wheezy.
xover222: he is not nice
geist_99: Least there is only 1. There are lots of not so nice people out here.
xover222: oh there are others that are not nice. i do not live with them.
geist_99: Yet as the Red Knight says its likely best for you to be there.
geist_99: ok sent the chess and life gen to you
xover222: yes he says it is best.
xover222: wheezy is bother me. i have to call the squeaky shoes.

At the moment I thinking hes sort of like rain man with able to see patterns, able to write codes when he was young and been put there.

enaxoro (1:34:25 PM): why can you see the board more clearly today?
xover222 (1:34:37 PM): i do not know

xover222 approached me for a game last night (that's around noon EDT). He was invisible so I didnt even know he was online until he asked for a game. He disappeared for a long time in the middle then came back. He disappeared again at the end, was still online but didnt come back. I had to sleep so didnt finish the game. Interesting bits as follows:

grumpyboi: how are you today reggie
xover222: good. I am waiting to hear from Red Knight.
grumpyboi: are u expecting him to see you today?
xover222: i do. the smart people solved his cypher
grumpyboi: you mean "the journey"
xover222: yes that is what they called it.
grumpyboi: have we earn's red knight's trust yet?
grumpyboi: earned
xover222: i do not know.
grumpyboi: i see
grumpyboi: have we earned yours?
xover222: when you earn his. you earn mine.

grumpyboi: when was the last time you played chess with jake?
xover222: before thanksgiving.
grumpyboi: then he just disappeared?
xover222: yes.
grumpyboi: how strange
xover222: "indeed" as some of you say.
grumpyboi: any idea what happened to him?
xover222: he ran. something spooked him.

he then went silent for a long time, finally came back and said the following:

xover222: sorry
xover222: the others tried to drag me into chat again.
xover222: they come with new names everyday.
grumpyboi: the other smart people?
xover222: i do not think so.
grumpyboi: who then?
xover222: i do not know they always ask for the caretaker.
grumpyboi: what are their names?
xover222: this time they came as colors.
grumpyboi: what about the other times?
xover222: norse gods
xover222: i do not remember the others i was scared.
grumpyboi: why do they scare you?
xover222: Red Knight told me someone would come for me.
xover222: it was only a matter of time.
grumpyboi: are you safe where you are? can they get to you?
xover222: if they knew where i was. i do not know if they would come
grumpyboi: you should not tell anyone where you are then. not even the smart people
xover222: Red Knight has told me the same.
grumpyboi: then red knight is smart
grumpyboi: is there anyway we can help keep you safe?
xover222: i do not think so
xover222: your move
grumpyboi: would red knight let them take you if they came for you?
xover222: he would have to.
xover222: i am a pawn.

We played for a bit more then he went silent and had to go to sleep....

Character biographies based on chatlogs

Hey folks, I took all the relevant information I could find from all the chatlogs, and compiled it into one document for easy reference. Have a look, and hopefully it will help next time you're talking to Reggie...

I talked to reggie yesterday afternoon, i had to abruptly leave but here is the interesting stuff he said:

terminalskeptik: you know, some people say that life is like a chess game, would you agree
xover222: no
xover222: life has more pieces.
terminalskeptik: yes, however, we are all pawns, correct
xover222: no
xover222: i would not agree with that either
terminalskeptik: so, what piece are you then
xover222: red pawn.
terminalskeptik: why red, what is special about that color
xover222: red is outside the normal colorscheme.
xover222: your turn
terminalskeptik: i get it, you are outside of the game, only black and white play
terminalskeptik: but you are watching the game
xover222: this is not a normal board.

Also note this:
terminalskeptik: like turgenev, i still cant seem to find his number, like you
xover222: i knew his number. turgenev1 i wanted you to find it.
xover222: i wanted everyone who was looking to find it

Quick chat--now we have Grey pieces

Chat 9/18 am

This is the second day Reggie hasn't taken his meds. He was using the computer in the lobby so they couldn't watch him. He has been contacted by the "grey pieces". They want him to take them to Caretaker, but he so far has refused.

Reggie chat

I just had basically the exact same convo with Reg and enaxor did:

Quote:
everlong978: hello Reggie
everlong978: you are not feeling well?
xover222: no i feel fine.
xover222: i am jumpy. i am in the lobby using the receptionist computer.
xover222: they cannot watch me here.
everlong978: i see
xover222: i cannot stay long now.
xover222: i feel fine and i am on day two of no meds.
everlong978: is there anything you can tell me while you are finally alone?
everlong978: any information you might have been afraid to give earlier
xover222: the greys are pushing hard for information.
everlong978: the greys?
everlong978: a new group with their own interest?
xover222: i am not sure if they are another group of smart people. they seem to know much.
everlong978: i see...
everlong978: would you like me to investigate them
everlong978: see if i can understand if they are like the blues and browns?
xover222: you cannot.
xover222: they shift quicker than you can track them

and then he was gone........

Actually it seems that the chat summary is much more useful than the entire text which doesn't get us anywhere.. I think it would be better if people just summarized like konamouse and addlepated did., but attach the entire log as a txt in case someone else wants to read between the lines.. what do you think?

Ehsan made this comment the other day, and I agree that it's a good idea and a smart way to handle all of this information in a readable way. Is there any way we can agree, in principle, to post our chat information like this? Small synopsis in the post, and attach the chatlog... easy as pie. If we'd prefer not to, then that's fine, but I haven't heard anyone say they didn't like this idea...

I like it that way. Smile Those of us that want just the gist of what was said can read the summary and those of us that want to analyze every detail can read the text. I like how you have the "Chat 9/18 am" listed too.

Two thoughts on the idea of summarizing chat:

1) Heck yeah. It's tedious to sit through all the useless dreck

2) Heck no. I think we're all familiar now with poorly formed spec that's christened as gospel (witness last night's rendezvous with caretaker) or folks remembering the previous data wrong and making inaccurate but well-meaning conclusions. Frankly, there's been a LOT of that, to the point where I don't trust people's ability to read dialogue and its subtleties.

I much prefer the version with bolded text for the in-game folks, but the context left intact. It gives me the chance to get the feel of what's really happening.

So I suppose the right answer, for me, is going to be to open all the texts. Except I doubt that ingame folks will be emboldend, making the reading all the more difficult...

I sorta agree with Dmax...I'd personally prefer to read through the logs because some people tend to put a spin on their ingame convo's which might be a bit biased due to their SPEC (SPEV haha).

So yes, a general summary could help as long as you attach the log to your post but please keep the post to what actually transpired from your contact with the character, or atleast let us know if you are SPEC'ing.

Thanks, that's my .08 cents US (using currency exchange from Canada)
