since i'm not on my own computer im stuck with IE atm too :s have found that if you select all the text and copy it to notepad or somesuch, you can read it fine. you could probably view the source and read it from that too.
will be good when it gets going hopefully, not much there atm

rach =)

It looks like the PM's have found a way to get over the fact that in theory Violets blog can be seen by the Academy & mind candy. This means information can be talked about without Sente automatically knowing.

Its very useful to get clarification on that...it's something that has been niggling at me, we need this sort of guarantee with certain things that arise. I think the PMs have picked up on this from the boards, it's certainly something I asked Violet about after she found out we'd spoken to Sente about Aiko.

btw -- The Path of Least Time is a four dimensional geodesic

or rather a geodesic in four dimensional space

just thought id let you all know Smile

Is the Path of Least Time anything like "Shortest Route from Point A to Point B" but with Time? I unfortunately have no clue about geodesics, though I'm roughly familiar with fourth dimensional concepts. Oh, and far too lazy to just type "geodesic" into Google. *curls up and goes to sleep*

It could be many things different from person-to-person's perspective. One could say that the path of least time is the shortest route from point A to point B, where as another person you could take a langer route from point A to point B and still arrive there quicker if you traveled fast enough.

In theory-or, my perspective, anyway-the path of least time can be as simple as that, or complex to the point it is not existant. You can travel at the speed of light only an inch from point A to point B, and it still be beaten there by somebody else if theories pertaining to breaking the speed of light are possible.

So... just go with the Geodesic. XD

Which is...

Quote:
Geodesy, as the term is used in physics, is the tendency of physical changes and processes to take the easiest or minimum path. Almost the whole of physics can be represented in geodetic form. Water running downhill seeks the steepest descent, the quickest way down, and water running into a basin, even one with irregular shape and bottom, distributes itself so that its surface is as low as possible, the water then has the minimum potential energy in the earth's gravitational field.

From here.

So basically... in physics, something will always find the path of least time (or, the least action princible) from point A to point B. In 4 dimensional space, particles follow the geodesic of spacetime, therefore they follow the path of least time.

That was much more complicated than it should have been...

Wow, Physics is fun! *in unison* Cause Knowledge is Power!

And no, that wasn't sarcasm.
