UPDATE: NRU hidden directories gone Thought I should post this in case it's not a temporary thing...
Not long ago, LazarusLong noticed that the www.nru.us/hackers/ page had changed. It said "Take a 2nd look". Not long after that, the entire set of directories disappeared. They now give a 404 error.
We're thinking this was either a clue to look for turgenev2, or maybe something we need to revisit. It is not clear if it originally appeared before or after the extra turgenev pages. If it appeared after, then it probably wouldn't be a reference to that. Still not sure why the hidden sites went down, and when/if they'll be back...

I would suggest taking a second look at everything. Anything you tried yesterday you should try again today. And remember this rule

Forgive me for being ignorant, but how was the nru.us/hackers/ page found in the first place?

I think that the images could be Jake's own notes, which upon closer inspection, read like several observations on the results of time travel experiments (it talks about the running of clocks and whatnot). After all, he did do Physics research. The docs quoted in cemgate2002's post confirm for me that Jake and/or the NRU are involved in time travel.
And, as others have speculated, Jake could be lost time, probably by someone else's doing.
Straying away from the game: I may be a nitpicker, but I don't see what the Uncertainty Principle has to do with micro-wormholes. I though the UP had to do with the impossibility of making observations without messing up the thing being observed on a quantum level. Maybe someone with more advanced Physics knowledge can explain that to me.

An extension of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principal deals with so called "zero point energy", or vacuum fluctuations. Basically, absolute zero means that the particles are completely stopped. When they are stopped, you can measure both the speed and position of the particle at the same time. This would be a violation of the HUP. They extended this to explain quantum fluctuations that give energy to the particles to keep them moving. They are on such a small scale that they can cause micro-wormholes to open because of the intense energy fields.
Or so I believe.
