I'm thinking that virtuquest is a real company hosting the game. And there is really a corporation/ corporations playing an edition that's not open to us.

I would tend to agree with this....I mean, either that or we've not only taken a wrong turn, but didn't even register pages 1-8.

And not only would we need to re-read our last clue ....we'd have to find it first. Shocked

I've been toying around with the various new information we have and here's my 2 cents.

I believe that Virtuquest is a real company that is trying to establish itself as a developer of ARGs and promotional or team building events.

On the Virtuquest homepage there is a statement under "Latest Updates" that on "March 19 2003, Play is now concluded? Thank You!" With a question mark at the end of that sentence it makes me believe otherwise.

I don't believe that Elle Broderick is a real company. I believe that we're beginning to enter a new part of "Play". For kicks, today I called the telephone number registered with the Elle Broderick website. The first time I called, a woman answered with a simple "hello" and no formal greeting to inform me that I was calling a business. I asked for "Sue". She said I had the wrong number and I hung up. Later in the afternoon I decided to call again, this time asking for Tyra Nagi (the contact name of the website registration). Again, a woman answered with a simple "hello". When I asked to speak with Tyra Nagi, she asked me to hold for a minute and then after a few moments of muffled sounds, a man came on the line. He asked who I was trying to reach and I told him Tyra Nagi. I explained that I wanted to discuss a psychological survey. He asked if it was in reference to Elle Broadrick and I told him it was. He then informed me that Tyra was out of the office and that they were currently restructuring. He asked me if I had tried reaching either Tyra or Tina Gray by email. I told him I had. He explained that both of these people were going to be out of the office. I asked when I could expect them to return to the office and he said two weeks. I thanked him and ended the call. Hmmmm.

Next, we have the letter and prize received yesterday by Andrea Channing. The letter, from Ray, contained many words missing the letter "L". You can read the letter here
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1541
I guess we'll have to wait for a response to her reply.

Next, there is the new "Corporate Leader Board". I'm clueless. Perhaps there is a new group playing a different version or a different game.
In regard to the Lafcadio quote, I was intrigued by ElPaso. I was surfing Lafcadio and Jacob Trasky. Not much else was to be found. Although, I did discover that there is an El Paso, Illinois. It's about 120 miles southwest of Chicago. Chicago was the area to which we traced Ray's phone number. Also, Andrea Channing's prize money order and letter came from the Chicago area.

I hope we get to "Play" some more. I was just starting to have fun when it "ended".

Seem to recall that the supposed baddies escaped.

That Lafcadio message may indicate that we helped expose the wrong person.. And that all of this is their next ploy..

More interesting is if you click on the "Jacob Trasky" link, it brings you to this page: http://www.virtuquest.com/lafcadio/index.html

It's probably for the "Corporate Edition" though. Confused

The link is still there but the page is now 404... Confused Question

Where would we find the "Route to ElPaso"?

The two main routes to El Paso, Texas appear to be 10 (from the SE) and 25 (from the NW). Of course, there is also the El Paso, Illinois...

See:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?addtohistory=&country=US&address=&city=el+paso&state=tx&zipcode=&historyid=&submit.x=30&submit.y=19

And here's El Paso, Illinois:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?addtohistory=&country=US&address=&city=el+paso&state=il&zipcode=&historyid=&submit.x=64&submit.y=12

The main route there appears to be 39.

I'm guessing we're supposed to add the route # to the page 9. I would suggest that we're looking for page 910, 925, or 939. Perhaps in a URL off of http://www.virtuquest.com/lafcadio/ (near, not far)

Google of MIJ Co yielded a Korean company with this home page:

Interesting products.

And despite the suspicious sounding reference to "fine products based on the FUN Technology - FUN stands for Future Ultra Nobby Technology" the rest of it is so bad that I think it's real.
