Yeah, that one was solved a while ago (check page 1) Very Happy I think all that was for the Merrick Biotech website, when they had a login/admin page and everything. But if I'm not mistaken, that's all been taken down now. I'm going to have a look over there again, but it seems to have all been closed up after the latest update.

Alright, there was some activity on the CloneWatch boards.

Quote:
Hello, I am Sean Manifesto of Merrick Biotech.
There is no Human Cloning going on in the Lab's, we only create Organs.
All reports of human cloning are not true.

Sincerly,
Dr. Manifesto

Once again, there was no email in the profile, so I sent him a PM across the forums. I also dropped an email to Ignacio Wallace, asking him why Dr. Henry Merrick was the head of his website. (A WHOIS on merrickbiotech.com also showed the name Henry Merrick.) Nothing else to report kids!

EDIT: Found an email address for Henry Merrick (on the WHOIS) so I'm going to send him a mail asking the same things as Mr. Wallace.

henrySPLATmerrickbiotech.com

I really hope this game goes somewhere!

wow, you'd think for a genetic scientist, he'd be able to differentiate between "Lab's" and "Labs"... Or perhaps accurately spell "Sincerely"... Rolling Eyes

Oh well.

I really hope this is a game, and not just a teaserpromothingy. (Yes, that's a real word, silly!) I love the idea that we're in the pre-island phase currently (given the state of cloning at the moment) and that the game(?) is using that angle. What we need is some character forum interaction (at CloneWatch Intl., not here, to be crystal clear!) to really let us know whether this will take off or just sit after the opening...

Ack. henrySPLATmerrickbiotech.com AND henrySPLATclonewatch.org (found in WHOIS for CloneWatch) both bounced. Too bad. I dug a little deeper and found a couple other addresses, but I think they might be out of game. Like the PMs. Whoops. *stops peeking behind curtain*

Also, Mr. Sean's message had some strange capitalizations.. As in, 'HUMAN CLONING' has a capital H and C in the first sentence, but isn't done in the second. It doesn't seem to mean anything, but someone else could take a look? I think your best bet would be the ones in the message, those are HCLO. So...yeah.

I've also PM'ed all of the Clonewatch folks
and Merrick folks.. waiting for something
from anybody
but i'm also looking to find a way to this
private forum and or how to get to Merrick's
private site..

*pulls out the labfly spy book... "breaking into
secret websites within websites must be in here somewhere!*

Anyone else see that there is now a petition against Merrick Biotech online? http://www.petitiononline.com/merrick/petition.html

Also, there's an interesting ad at the top of the page....leads to www.merrickbiotech.com, but I don't think I've seen it before. Interesting...

by the by, there's nothing interesting in the credits - I stayed to check, lol.

Also, don't know if there's a channel for this already, but I've got one open - #merrick

At the bottom of the page it gives the name and email addie of whoever started the petition. In this case it was
Quote:
Michael J. McDonnell (jimmycokesSPLATyahoo.com)

So I decided to drop this guy a mail...but considering the time everyone else is taking to get back to me...I dunno.

Man, there's only 3 kinds of people signing that petition. 1). The people who are playing it as a game 2). The people who found it because of the movie and are posting stuff like 'CLONE SCARLETT' and 3). The innocent kids who don't know it's a game OR a movie and are trying to express their opinions. It's a sad, sad world. Confused

EDIT: Err. Whoops? I tried Googling jimmycokesSPLATyahoo.com and cames across this.

Molly Murray? I suppose the initals are the same (that's MM for all you slow kids) but I think I may have come across another out of game/PM thing. Uh.

The ad image is attached - a google ad. (NOTE: imgad.jpg is what came up when I saved it).

EDIT: I also emailed that address, when I discovered the petition. We'll see....

Well... there's a good possibility that some of those are in-game.

Alright, here's the general decision. Or at least the one TaoZero and I came to: This isn't an ARG. It certainly felt like one, but here's a couple reasons why I, personally, have given up on what could have been an amazing game:

-Firstly, the gaping holes between ingame/out. In one day I came across three or four different links/email addies/results on Google that lead to obviously out of game things. If the PMs were serious, they would have made sure that this didn't happen.

-Secondly, the lack of responses from in game characters. I must have sent an email to every single friggin character I came across, and I had one response, if you'll call it that. It was just an automated response from Dr.Manifestio on the boards.

Quote:
To, Pauloulou

http://www.merrickbiotech.com/ is our organization's website.

Sincerly,
Dr. Manifesto

-And thirdly, the general lack of updates. You would think that had it actually been a game, SOMETHING would have changed in the last week or so. But nothing (well, besides the clonewatch.org hacking on merrickbiotech.com, but that we already knew about).

My (with help from taozero Very Happy ) personal theory? It was SUPPOSED to be a game. Maybe for the launch or something, as there are just too many ARGish hints floating around to make it nothing. The weird message board posts, the multiple websites, the crazy WHOIS stuff...Maybe they ran out of funding (the movie did go $2 million over budget) or maybe the PMs were just disorganized or something else. Point is, I think this baby is done. It's a shame. It could have been wicked cool had it gone somewhere.

In other news, I did manage to catch the movie. And there was nothing besides a 1-800-555 number that seems remotely ARGish. As for the movie itself? The first half of the film was amazing, but as soon as you got to the Micheal-Bay-rewritten section (aka generous amounts of explosions) it kind of fell apart. Ewan McGregor, as usual, was amazingly freaking hot. Drool Err...that's me. Dying during the makeout scene. Dead because I'm not the one he's making out with. Evil or Very Mad

I replied to this message on the Clonewatch forums on July 22:

Quote:

Would you care to explain the videos that are shown here then?

I received a reply from Dr. Manifesto on the same day:

Quote:

Those videos are not from Merrick Biotech, nothing of that nature is happening here, like I said we only create organs.

I responded on July 24 with:

Quote:

Mr Wallace, you claim the videos on this web site came from inside Merrick Biotech.

Do you have any substantial proof to back this claim?

There hasn't been a response to that yet.

So there was some character interaction right there. I'm not so quick to give up on this one.
