I am not entirely sure why I have four voicemails of drunken ARGfest people on my cellphone really, sounds like some sort of emergency... must have something to do with this I guess:

Code:
[08:12] <xnbomb> Gisk[a]rd, Gisk[a]rd Gisk[a]rd
[08:12] <xnbomb> are you awake man?
[08:12] <xnbomb> we want to phone you@
[08:15] <xnbomb> Gisk[a]rd, Gisk[a]rd Gisk[a]rd Gisk[a]rd Gisk[a]rd Gisk[a]rd
[08:16] <xnbomb> We so want to talk to Giskard. For he is sassy.
[08:17] <xnbomb> Sassypants Giskard.

Shocked Laughing

Somehow, I think that I am kinda glad I didn't hear my phone go off during the night Cool

Oh my! You know something is seriously wrong when xnbomb, a composed and well rounded person, writes a message with the word "sassypants" in it.

I'm waiting for you to attach those voicemails!

Thank You!

I was checking my email this morning and found a gift certificate from Amazon.com from the ARGFest attendees.

I didn't expect that at all. Thank you so much.

Ohmygod... I'm just glad that it really was your phone, and we didn't end up leaving all of those messages to some random guy in Holland. Which, um, happened in Anthrax' case, of all people (Me: hello, Anthrax? RandomDudeOnThePhone: ... ... ... no ... ...)

Heh... lol... I hope you can still make it out of NYC before the FBI gets on your trail for spreading fake chemical warfare threats Razz

Heh, well, that was what I thought Shocked
Not a bad idea though, to attach the messages... not that I can really make a lot of them though... the drunkenness and, umm, environtmental sounds don't help making them any more intelligible Wink

Seeing that Steve is on a few of them too though, it might be worthwhile to try and make a transcription, maybe it hides some kloos, just like the Halloween phonecall! Laughing

I've tagged all my ARGfest photos on flickr with ARGfest, some are even annotated:

www.flickr.com/photos/tbridge

Enjoy. I didn't get to take any during the wild goose chase this afternoon, but we were in some of the same places when Tiff and I snuck out during the Heist talk to get more camera memory.

Sunday Breakfast

We're planning on meeting in the Penn lobby at 10:30. The tentative plan is to head up to H&H, pick up some bagels and such, walk over to the American Museum of Natural History, chill out on the steps and nosh, then head into Central Park.

There are two locations, one on Broadway, one on 46th St. Which do you intend to hit up?

If anyone has a Delicious account and knows of additional ARGfest photo albums, feel free to make a post over there with the tag argfest05.

Now that was one sweet mammajamma of a vacation! In fact, the only bad part at all was... this craptacular TV-Web service my hotel provides! (For a fee, of course..)

Seriously, though, this entire experience was unbelivably successful and highly enjoyable. In a nutshell, we went from introductions to a great meal to the conferences to shopping to an awesome New York style pizzaria to a bar to Kona dancing on a bench in the bar to A Night At The Improv to Sunday brunch at the Starlite Diner to a brief stay at Central Park to TOY TOKYO (and some PXC cards) to more shopping to the best Korean meal 26 people could have had. And most of the 26 are still going!

I will have to elaborate more when I get back in front of a real computer, as this TV-based shit is slowly driving me insane. I'm just checking in to say I LOVE NEW YORK!!!!

THANKS AND MORE

I will wait until Jamesi gets a chance to move this thread to the Social Interactions section to write more.. Maybe you could make a new thread about ARGFest memories (or something).

ATTENDEES
I loved this - having everyone here in New York was fantastic -thanks to everyone who attended. I so appreciate the gift of the Amazon gift certificate. Thanks again for that.

----
POSTERS
Special Thanks to The Poster Makers.
I couldn't list you on the Thank You page because they were a surpise:

1. Project Mu - wishi-san
2. I love Bees - Hits Her Mark
3. Dread House/ Urban Hunt - RobMagus
4. Perplex City - Brienigma
5. The Art of the Heist - HitsHer Mark

Two other people made posters that I had trouble opening the files for, but, I have promised they will be made for the next ARGFest, wherever that is.

6. Jamesi - Lockjaw
7. The Beast - Celina

We will try get these open and done somehow, when everyone gets back!

As a gift for making the posters, I have copies of the book "Perfect Circle" by Sean Stewart - which he autographed "Special ARG edition" for each person. I will get the addresses of brienigma and HHM to mail them.

The posters are beautiful. Some ideas are floating around about finding a way to have copies made or printed by other people. I nominate wishi-san as head of that effort.
------
And, thanks to bagsbee who made the whole thing possible - bagsbee you are the best! I think "I'm the best" should be your next sig. Or maybe 'the best' could be your title as LouMac is the pimp daddy.

Extra special thanks to Dave Szulborski who helped with everything from getting speakers, conference room, the live webfeed, the FestQuest - I would have been lost without his always patient help and constant support. We will post soon the puzzle trail and the credits for the FestQuest.

----

Some favorite moments:

1. Turning around on the walk to dinner on Friday night and thinking that some people walking on the sidewalk had joined in our group - then realizing that they were part of our group.

2. Bagsbee saying to me at 11:00 on Saturday night (me going on about 2 hours of sleep since getting up early on Friday morning) "you look like you've been to hell and back" to which I replied," I'm not back yet."

3. Riding the Staten Island Ferry on joebrent's tour yesterday with a group of 14 people and realizing how perfect everything had been.

4. Jane McG putting our url in her talk for us. Smile

5. prefest moment - spending an evening with Sin Vraal getting the pictures for the last part of the Fest trail.

6. joebrent - our Master of Ceremonies- arriving at 9:00 sharp to prepare for his duties. Despite not having gone to bed the night before, according to rumor anyway, he was the second person in the conference room that morning.

7. Adrian answering all those pesky questions about the cards. " Every time google adds a feature, you don't say google has launched, do you?"

8. Seeing the conference room fill up and then adding more chairs, and then more chairs, and then more chairs.

9. vpisteve saying "this whole thing was conjured out of thin air."

----
wraith suggested a postfest post-mortem as we would have with a PM chat after the game. Not sure how that would work but we Festplanners will keep it in mind.
