Yeah, yeah, yeah Okay, so I just got here and didn't notice that it was already solved. I thought "Hmmm, I don't see any mention of it. Maybe I'll be nice and tell them." My bad! (jk). I'm sorry I'm so far behind on something that hasn't even started. The "O.C." will be my first ARG so you'll have to excuse my lack of assertiveness. (Wow, these meds sure to make me grouchey). Anywho... have a good one and I can't wait for it to "officially" begin.

Yeah, the trailer is really well done.
By the way, what is that music in the trailer? It's beautiful, and I know I've heard it before.

Moonlight Sonata is a personal favorite. When I hear it, I always think about a certain mansion, distant footsteps, and such......

Dodginess galore in that trailer. Lots of "photos" and some interesting images too. They're intermingled with the space pictures which are also pretty interesting
There is one that looks like a rally with someone holding a sign saying "Pare la máquina de Orbicon" which is Spanish for "Stop the Orbicon machine".
And another which shows someone standing next to a sign saying "Orbicon Maldives Ground Base".
There's a couple of 3D renderings which are interesting. Are these of the Orbital Colony?
A protest of sorts again this time with the text "Living in Space is Not God's Plan." Also "CARTS Rally - Central Park 7:00". Anyone care to spec on what CARTS is?
And finally the classiest of all, Actors Against Orbicon
Is the game afoot or is this just a little taster of what's to come?
One more thing, the trailer appears to be titled attempt2, I wonder what happened to the first one
Gotta love that search function...
Here are some screenshots of the stuff Wishi is talking about.

The name doesn't sound like Stevie May to me. Stevie Nicks and even then I don't think Stevie is right.
They inaudible bit she says "Camera off" and then something else but the camera goes off.
The first thing I thought the little girl was saying was 'Stevie Hicks', but that's not right. Possibly Eve-y Hicks/Nicks is what I'm getting. And after she says camera off, the best I can get is 'Beta Out'. Sounds kind of space-ish. Also, can anyone get a picture of that crazy MilkBone and sharpen it up so we can see what's written on it? My eyes arn't the greatest, but it looks like a bunch of zeros and then something else after.
Well, that's my two cents!

I'm new to ARGs, as I just stumbled across the wikipedia article yesterday. Looking for more info brought me to uf, and searching the forums, I found OC, which looks very fun.
On to business, I've viewed the hi-quality trailer, and I agree that the bone says ROBODOG. Also, "Beta Out" is the best I could come up with for the part after "Camera off". The girl's name sure sounds alot like "Stevie Mae" to me. Actually, it could also be "C.V. May" but that doesn't make sense. Stevie Mae would make sense as the daughter of the scientist "Steven Mae", mentioned on the orbiconcorp.com site.
Maybe its just my system, but hhm's screenshots are coming across as blank to me. I've tried taking my own screenshots, and also get blank images. I've tried simple screenshots of windows media player, screenshoots from Gimp, using winamp as the player, and importing the trailer to windows movie maker and taking screenshots. Nothing seems to work. But at least I can see the images clearly.
The two scenes after the "Orbicon Maldives Ground Base" sign are 3d renderings of what appear to be the ground base, including the space elevator (artists concepts?). These are followed by some more images of the car ascending the cable in various poses, and finally by the protesters mentioned earlier.
I haven't heard anyone mention this, and I doubt its significant, but just in case: Moonlight Sonata has a mistake in it. There's an extra note inserted right around time 2:22. For those with access to a score, its an A (below middle C) inserted between beats 1 and 2 of m.29, I believe.
I'll try naming the rock in a day or two, and explore the website some more as well. Speaking of naming rocks, the asteroid shown in the trailer is named Gaspra.

Hi bachmusic, welcome to uF!
Thanks for the additions made above. HHM's screenshots are indeed blank, heh, funny-looking though I'm not sure if you can capturestuff off video by making a screenshot of mediaplayer... it usually does not work.
About the asteroid being named Gaspra, I wonder if that might be what the Name that Rock compo is all about... (according to the news section says it will all be explained later, would be very funny if we all tried making up silly names for an asteroid while in fact they are after the name of an existing one)
You should try entering it in the compo if you are ok with wasting an opportunity to enter something hilarious

well crap that's odd...
They looked okay when I saved them...
All I was doing was hitting "print screen" and then pasted into paint... Usually that works.

If you're using windows media player to play it, go into options and turn hardware acceleration all the way down, and then take your screenshots. Also many media players have an option for capturing the frame.

Okay, I did as statingfrequency suggested, and I think I finally got a good result. I included a readme file with some commentary on each image.

At the risk of over-analyzing a trailer which may be insignificant...
Did anyone notice anything else odd about the Maldives Ground Base photo? Like the fact that the girl in it seems to be dressed pretty warmly for a tropical island? Googled for Maldives climate, and found that average temperature is in the 80-85 Farenheit range all year long. Coldest temp ever recorded there was 63 F, and the warmest was 98 F. Not the kind of place for a long-sleeved flanel jacket and jeans. Also the terrain doesn't look all that tropical. The fact that there are no full-size trees in the photo make me wonder if it is somewhere above the treeline. Also, the arrowhead sign makes me think of Native American Indians or US National Parks. It certainly doesn't look like the Maldives, though. I vote for either Oklahoma (because of the Native American culture there) or for the Rocky Mountains.
Could the 9 be a Highway or Route number? (Or a campsite number?) It just occured to me that if it were a road number, the resulting road might be associated somehow with the "road to the stars".

The trailer on http://www.orbitalcolony.com/trailer.htm
has never worked for me(I use a Mac)... I swear someone posted a version that worked for Mac users months ago but I can't find the post in the search.
Does anyone know where I can find a version of the trailer that will work?
