Just to keep people in the loop that may not have been following this for very long...

A discussion about the Trailer can be found here

Wishi-san basically said in that post everything I was about to say in this one before I did a search to see if it had been discussed before. ((See? That's why we have it!))

The only thing not mentioned is that there appears to be some numbers on the doggie snack that's floating in space. (Mostly 0's)

Oh, neat. orbicon.org used to be the meta page, so it looks like they just got rid of it and replaced it with the content of orbiconcorp.com. Tightening the curtain, I suppose? TINAG and all that. Cool, I'm not a big fan of meta pages.

Isn't www.orbitalcolony.com still the META page? www.orbicon.org (to which I cannot connect most of the time btw) is indeed a "hollow" frameset with the contents of www.orbiconcorp.com in it...

I named my rock Hudson.

This is an amusing way to sign up for a game. Laughing

"Zelgadis." From the anime "Slayers." 1/3 rock golem. *shrugs* I couldn't think of any suitibly terrible puns.

I realised that this was to collect our info, but I wish I had thought of the rock name being our login. I should have named it after the silicone-based chick from that one Dr. Who episode I saw, like, eight years ago....

I wasn't paying attention when I did it and named the rock Tommy... I hope they try to connect that to the "pinball wizard" Tommy XD

Who?

....

ahaha. I'm so hilarious. Anyway, what do you think are the rules on multiple entries? I suppose that will be answered in the forthcoming(?) email, as I couldn't find any mention on the site contest rules. I tentatively entered twice, wondering if it really was a 'competition,' a method intended solely to gain our information, or whether it's for individual unique player-generation. We'll see if I'm disqualified, I guess...

More things of note:

The Intranet login goes to login.php, which, with no login/pass, gives:
Quote:
You can't access this file directly... http://orbiconcorp.com/intranet/loginform.php

Probably a normal server error page, butcha never know...
http://orbiconcorp.com/namethatrock/adduser.php gives the same error, minus the URL in the body...

Also, it seems the commented image has been taken out of the source. Red herring, I guess.

EDIT: Yet another new finding!
It seems that the server Orbicon is running could help us greatly while looking for hidden pages and folders, as you can see at http://orbiconcorp.com/images/orbiconlogo_large.gif

Ooh, that is such a nasty thing for webservers to do, especially when you are running a puzzle-trail and people start doing wild guesses to see if they find anything that is similar enough to be suggested...

It's probably a very public-friendly thing for servers to do, but not when trying to run an ARG...

Well, seeing as CoD has officially come to a halt, I figured I might as well join this ARG. Just saying "hi".

"Death Rock"

Er. See, this is the result of posting while on a jittery caffeine high after 2 hours of sleep. I'm insane, never mind, carry on.

Welcome markzspot! Good to have you.

I didn't choose anything witty or punny. My last name is Rock and I have heard enough of those. Rolling Eyes

I chose Spinhaven. But that is based on the rock in question being a planet. I couldn't find anything telling us if it was an asteroid or some other type of celestial body. I emailed infoSPLATorbiconcorp.com asking them what type of rock it was and how many entries each person gets in the contest. I will post any reply.
