In - game, certainly, the Perplexians have a tremendous ability not to be of very much use. Purely OOG, I suppose, if there's a specific sequence that MC are adhering to (i.e. we're only supposed to get access to the Library six months from now because it holds a vital clue), then I guess it's simply their way of keeping their cards close to their chest, whilst giving the impression of interactivity!

In truth, though, I think Sente set the whole thing up wrong: he should have allowed Earth people explicit rights of access to serve as his primary investigative team. He should have recognised that a) none of us would be in grevious danger as we aren't present in their world and b) it's unlikely that any of us would double - cross him, as we have no ulterior motive (other than the reward he's offered) for searching for the Cube. Given that we are his 'eyes and ears' in all but name, and that he is a pretty damn powerful man in Perplexian terms, you might have thought that certain designated authorities, at least, would be giving us Earth folks a bit of slack. Perhaps not sectarian groups like the Recons (who won't allow the Perplexian government, let alone us, see their records). But, come on: why have the Perplexian police force not been asked to forward anything of significance that they find in their investigations to the Earth 'retrieval team'? Why is the Academy Library out of bounds for us? Etc.

Yes, OOG, it might make the whole thing a bit less 'mysterious'; yes, maybe Sente is deliberately making life hard for us for some reason...but I think the point's valid.

I stand here to disagree with you. Very Happy

I will grant some OOG realities, like THEY dont want us to see THAT information before the rest of the world even sees the puzzle cards, say.

or perhaps it is possible the perplexians dont want us to get ourselves killed: The secret society somehow managed to get the Cube onto earth, and thus it is reasonable to assume they have strong contacts over here who can go rub out Earthly nosey reporters like Salk. But that seems dubious, as Pietro was reading info all about this society and didnt believe it was real; There's nothing to indicate violet or anyone else knows about it at all. Sente might know about them, but his daughters wouldn't. So like I guess what I mean is, sente could be shielding us fFrom elements of the truth, but that doesnt stand up under several fForms of scrutiny.

So all we have is OOG reasons fFor non-communicative NPCs. which I will speak out against anytime I can.

Yes Adrian and Michael, the game did start. Quite some time ago.

I have always suspected that Sente knows all about who actually did this and as he couldn't trust who works for who needs an outside source to help solve his problems.

I think Sente is more paranoid than us combined Smile

Well, I don't disagree really with any of those last comments! I suppose my point remains: if Sente really wants our help that badly, he could have done rather more in the way of open doors for us, and granting us access to otherwise confidential files.
