[NamelessNovel][TRAILHEAD] Lemony Snicket is missing Just got an email from the publisher of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket. Perhaps, it's a bonified trailhead.
Quote:
July 2005
Dear Reader,
As you probably already know, no news can be bad news indeed. We are deeply upset to inform you that both the title of upcoming Book the Twelfth in A Series of Unfortunate Events and Mr. Snicket himself have been reported missing, unknown, or both. With the book's publication scheduled for October 18th, 2005, the situation is dire.
Alarmingly, the public's help is now required to uncover important details regarding Mr. Snicket's new book before it is too late. Volunteers everywhere are invited to visit www.TheNamelessNovel.com , where an official investigation is underway. Anonymous sources say that clues at that website and elsewhere are sure to lead to a series of shocking revelations.
Very little is currently known about Mr. Snicket's latest research, besides that Count Olaf is still evil and the Baudelaire orphans do not win a prize. Rest assured that we will continue to monitor the situation, even though we expect the worst.

SWEET.
Man, I've always said I'd love to create a Lemony Snicket ARG. This might just be a web story thinger, but how fun!

It's a self-contained game, like you'd see on any other site about a game or movie, but there is some (minor) reality blurrage. Methinks we should make up a name for these kinds of games as well. It's not bad, kinda fun actually, but hardly a full-fledged ARG.

Factoid: Lemony Snickett is a character himself. He was created and played by an anonymous author.

The anonymous author in question is one Daniel Handler (I believe)
Anyway, I got the same email, and now I shall investigate!

Whatever it is, it looks like it'll be fun. I've already done the two puzzles that are available right now. Looks like we won't have another until the 31st

I can't use the screensaver on my Linux box for obvious reasons, if that's important :/
EDIT: Does anyone have the wav of the audio clip? The RealPlayer plugin for Firefox hates me >_<

Even though I installed the Real plugin for Firefox and re-started the application (and then my cpu), it still won't work.
A pox upon Real and all its descendants.
I saw Daniel Handler do a Lemony reading about 4 years ago. He's so totally awesome. He is my Sekrit Boyfriend.
