my two cents

im new to this whole arg thing and i have no idea if this is even related (if it is this arg is a plug for the movie the island), but a ProfMoriarty has posted a comment on the website www.clonewatch.org. i think he might be a real person but it never hurts to check it out anyways. hope this helps.[/url]

I believe ProfMoriarty is a player, too, and is participating in the Island ARG. I also agree that it never hurts to check. I'm brand new to this scene and I'm happy to see other brand new players giving this ARG a try.

I heard back from SDA today.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
My message:
After viewing your blog this afternoon, I'm concerned about the
well-being of you and your charges. I see that Adam Fritz has managed
to infiltrate your journal. Has he gotten to you as well?

His taunts are ominous. Even the name of his flash loop is alarming
(http://www.freewebs.com/bterminal3/theendofyou.swf).

The text itself could not be more clearly threatening:

Goodbye, Mr. SDA. It was fun getting to know you.
adamfritzSPLATabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijk.com
I'm coming for you. Adam knows all.

(Some symbols, I believe that's a capital Russian beh, a Greek
lowercase rho, and then a Greek capital gamma/capital Russian geh.)
The Variables You Do Not Know.
Hahahaahahahahahahaa. You think you know, but you don't.
Power lies elsewhere. Power lies to you.

Is there any possible way I can help?

--Reb

And the reply:
I thought so - and if I had luckily already made a backup.

It really helps to be prepared. Hopefully, Adam does not know about
this backup - http://thesixtinechapel.blogspot.com - and even if he
did, this time I would be prepared.

Thank you for offering your help. Things have indeed gotten worse
since returning from the South Pacific, but I had no choice.

If you were following the developments then you will remember that I
had made a post about Donny Detraux - the disgraced journalist. A
contact of mine in the De Bestellingsverzameling (he is only a
neophyte there, nowhere near the true echelons of power) recently
sighted Detraux at a meeting in Chicago! He was apparently the guest
of the reigning President of DB, a man whom I have not been able to
identify.

My contact mentioned that the central theme of this meeting was now
"the Jennifer Blackwolf issue". It would appear that DB was now
fearing that Jennifer Blackwolf's very successful campaign is going to
affect DB somehow. Apparently, the Senator was never a member of DB,
despite Detraux claiming otherwise in his newspaper days.

Another thing that I heard about was that a key player in DB, Lord
Francis Northridge, is now pushing for support in a new endeavour of
his. I suspect it might be related to the recent Bureau leaks and the
rumored theft of Bureau equipment.

SDA.

PS. I hope this information is helpful to you.

I'm not sure what to do next. I'm reviewing some of the older material to see if I can uncover something we missed. For example, Lewis the Second received that CallingCard.jpg from Adam Fritz. As far as I can tell, it should have led us somewhere, but to where, I have no idea. Plus, there is the rumor of a fifth surviving subject. Seems significant and I cannot figure out how to use that information.

Edit: I'm posting the two files one gets by destegging postcard003.jpg using the keyword monaco. My correspondence with 22 sparked by this find is already chronicled in a previous post. The wiki mentioned these files had not been posted, so I'm correcting my oversight.

I'm working on answering 22's questions from 22puzzle_289.txt (last post). I have some answers and am clueless on others, but here's what I've got (my answers are in bold):

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
My, my, my.

Seems like someone's stumbled onto 22's new puzzle. "Gratz".

Let's review what you've known already. Answer the following questions.

1) Assuming that A=1, B=2, C=3, ...Y=25, Z=26, what would the combined total of the full name of the older Blackwolf twin? I get 200 for "Julia Thorne Blackwolf". I haven't double-checked it, but it comes out nice and evenly..

2) Using the perfect square/Caesar cypher, what would the name Delia Anne Langley end up to be?I'm assuming the Caesar cypher to be "change each character to the one three places after it in the alphabet", in which case I get "geolddqqhodqlohb". I'm probably doing something wrong.

3) Where did this line: "rTyo44$@!" appear? http://www.whatisthiswhyareyouhere.net.tc/, which was the original sign-up thing.

4) What link does Monique Claret have with Sixdoorsago?? I've heard the name, but don't know anything definite other than she's the Blackwolf family biographer.

5) The stanza, "This day will die tonight and there ain't no exceptions/Why should we wait for nothing to wait for?/Love me in this fable babe my heart is in your hands/Our time is waiting right outside your door/" - where does it appear, and what is the title of the song it came from?The title is "Maybe Tomorrow is a Better Day", but I don't know where it appears.

6) Why would Adam Fritz tell everyone to report themselves at SixDoorsAgo's blog when he was the 'other side'?No clue.

7) Who murdered Lazarus Mihail?Same.

8) Where was SDA before he returned to the States?Tokelau.

9)How do we answer this one?

10) WHAT IS THE CONSPIRACY OF B??I don't know that we have a definite answer here.

Given the nonlinear nature of the questions, I will accept several different answers, as long as they are relevant. How will you send this? There are two ways. 1) Send a private message to the user "hmm" at Enchanted Forums. 2) Bite your nails needlessly in hopes of finding my email address. From then on you will learn how to contact me.

I don't doubt we'll be in touch soon.

22.

I haven't sent 22 the answers since I don't have all of them.

There have been a couple of noteworthy blog entries at the twins' site, and the latest one has a link to SenJen's homepage (http://www.jenniferblackwolf.0nyx.com/index.html). Unfortunately for me, Firefox shows only broken images for SenJen's page.

i_need_a_pillow, I worked out a few of 22's questions in an earlier post, if you'd like to compare answers. I encourage you to continue in your efforts. Please contact 22 with your findings, too. You could unearth a new, helpful lead.

In case you were wondering, here is how I arrived at my answer to question two. Create a 4x4 grid and fill in the boxes vertically with Delia Anne Langley. Below is an approximation of the filled in grid (imagine the columns with proper alignment).
D A E G
E A L L
L N A E
I N N Y
Now print out the letters going across the rows to get DAEGEALLLNAEINNY. Again, I'm no code expert, so take this suggestion with a grain of salt.

RebWins, I looked over your previous answers, some of which were rather helpful. I contacted 22 on the Enchanted Forums with the following message:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I come bearing answers (some less certain than others, I'm afraid) to your questions. I have reproduced your original questions below with my answers following them in braces.

---

My, my, my.

Seems like someone's stumbled onto 22's new puzzle. "Gratz".

Let's review what you've known already. Answer the following questions.

1) Assuming that A=1, B=2, C=3, ...Y=25, Z=26, what would the combined total of the full name of the older Blackwolf twin? {I get 218 for "Julia Thorne Blackwolf".}

2) Using the perfect square/Caesar cypher, what would the name Delia Anne Langley end up to be? {I'm assuming the Caesar cypher to be "change each character to the one three places after it in the alphabet", in which case I get "geolddqqhodqlohb". I'm probably doing something wrong. If I use the perfect square, I get "daegealllnaeinny", and if I use the Caesar cypher on that text, I get "gdhjhdooogdhlqqb".}

3) Where did this line: "rTyo44$@!" appear? {http://www.whatisthiswhyareyouhere.net.tc/, which was a sign-up page I encountered when I first heard of this situation.}

4) What link does Monique Claret have with Sixdoorsago?? {She is "a photographer and a friend" of SDA's, and she is the Blackwolf family biographer.}

5) The stanza, "This day will die tonight and there ain't no exceptions/Why should we wait for nothing to wait for?/Love me in this fable babe my heart is in your hands/Our time is waiting right outside your door/" - where does it appear, and what is the title of the song it came from? {The title is "Maybe Tomorrow is a Better Day", but I don't know where it appears.}

6) Why would Adam Fritz tell everyone to report themselves at SixDoorsAgo's blog when he was the 'other side'? {He may be hoping that those who do so can somehow lead him to the subjects currently being guarded by SDA.}

7) Who murdered Lazarus Mihail? {I do not know the answer to this question. My best guess is Adam Fritz, but that is based on his capabilities only and not on any evidence I have.}

8) Where was SDA before he returned to the States? {Tokelau.}

9) {There isn't a number 9.}

10) WHAT IS THE CONSPIRACY OF B?? {I don't know that I have a definite answer here. The possibilities of which I am aware are: Blackwolf, the Bright Awakening, the Bureau of Technicalities (which has been said not to exist, if I recall correctly, so I assume this isn't as possible as the rest), Benedict Vargas, and De Bestellingsverzameling.}

I used your answers when I was clueless (like the part about SDA's blog) or wrong (218 for Julia's name instead of 200), and I added De Bestellingsverzameling to the list of possible solutions to #10. If I come up with anything new, I will send 22 an update to that effect.

Your help is a service I cannot thank you for enough.
Seeing that you are offering it, I would like to just tell you

I can't think of anything yet (though I'll let you know if I think of something), but just out of curiosity, where did you find those numbers?

Also, SDA's advice is the same as the subject of his latest blog post...

maybe not, every three digits represents the octal code for an Ascii character.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The message reads, "Testing, testing, testing. Jake, your message was received successfully." I omitted some carriage returns and line feeds that were also encoded.

Is this a puzzle for the Conspiracy of B? If so, could you point me to where you found it?

ps how did you translate that? i tried using the ascii converter on the tutorial page but no dice. all i got was a bunch of wierd symbols.

So there's a barcode at the top of SDA's blog (I hadn't noticed this before; if it's been there for a while, I apologize). I have no idea how to read barcodes, but I'll try to figure out this afternoon. Still, it may have something interesting encoded.

On another note, I noticed that that barcode image is hosted on photobucket; the sixdoorsago photo album there (http://photobucket.com/albums/b198/sixdoorsago/) contains six images: the Fatemaker identities page, postcard002.jpg (with which we've already dealt), the barcode, and three other interesting images.

The first is of part of a person's face. Any ideas who this is?

The second and third are scans of communications between 22 and Adam (and eventually Coverup 1 and Adam). Apparently SDA had someone decrypt them for him. Can we make any sense of this?

I'll try to deal with these later; it's 3 am and I need some sleep.

Hey everyone, Its been a long time for me since playing Conspiracy...

Someone's face: That's Subject 2, "Gary Enabled". I do believe this was found through Filedumpb.

Hey, can anyone get to Jennifer Blackwolf's Senate website? I can't do it on Firefox... [EDIT: Laura says it doesn't work for Firefox at her website. Why? Is the Senator working for Microsoft? Hehehe]

Thanks, Questioneer. Forgot about him.

As for the bar code...I'm not really getting anywhere. I decided to copy the code in binary (one bit is two pixels wide); it's 192 bits long, which makes it 24 bytes long. In case any of you can help, here's the code with all of the bytes delimited by slashes:
10110111/10111001/01110000/10100111/10101101/00001101/
10101100/00110111/10010110/11011000/01011010/01111011/
11010011/00100100/00100100/11001101/11000010/10100111/
10110010/01100110/11101001/11010111/10011001/11000101

That makes each byte represent:
183/185/112/167/173/013/172/055/150/216/090/123/
211/036/036/205/194/167/178/102/233/215/153/197

Which doesn't give me anything useful if I try to use that as extended ASCII. I've attached a screenshot of Notepad with those codes entered as ASCII, but I'm pretty sure that's a dead end. Any other ideas?

maybe not, I did it by hand, using an Ascii table from the ARG online resources thread to decipher the text. http://www.lookuptables.com/

i need a pillow, I don't see a message in the symbols you posted, either. I'll take a look at the barcode, too. I agree we need to review the older stuff.

Reviewing the earlier material, I have a few questions:

1. How did Anakite on the Enchanted Forums figure out where Lazarus was? Lazarus mentions mosquitos, hinting at a tropical locale, and Anakite replies with something to the effect of, "Oh, why didn't I think of it before? You're on the Tokelau Islands!" Lazarus replies along the lines of, "You're right! Too bad I'm leaving!" (No offense meant to Anakite, of course, but how in the world did he/she come up with Tokelau?)

2. SDA asks wisdom warrior if the Delia Langley School of Excellence site was made by the kids. Was it? What is the importance? (Maybe this has something to do with Gladys Corcoran being Delia Langley.)

3. Is there a postcard001.jpg we haven't found? (If you look at SDA's photoalbum http://photobucket.com/albums/b198/sixdoorsago/?action=view&current=postcard002.jpg he wonders where the first one is, too.)

4. Is there really a puzzle in the background of Adam Fritz's profile from bterminal3? Adam hinted to Lewis the Second that 22 would be the type of person to encode a puzzle that way. I'm wondering if Adam was pushing us in the wrong direction.

I have the vague suspicion that August 23, the day of the twins' birthday party and the start of university classes for many of us, will be eventful. (It's a bit OOG to suggest in game events are tied to school schedules, and I am taking my cue from 22's and SDA's admonishment, "School's starting, so start studying.")

RebWins, Anakite probably guessed it from the domain name (enchantedforums.tk). Every country has a two-letter top-level domain (you know, like .com, .net, etc.). The United States has .us, France has .fr, and so on. The .tk TLD belongs to Tokelau. Normally people don't think about it because the .tk registry (the people who say what sites get domain names or not) gives away free domain names (that's why you see that ad before seeing the forums; that's how they get the free domain). Anakite realized that the domain was actually a clue to Lazarus's location.
