You mean Kuiper Belt? Let's totally not start up an astrology arguement in the Halo 2 thread along with everything else. It's been called a planet for years, and that's good enough for me.

You mean Astronomy, right? Either way I'll lay off because I can ramble for days on end about it.

I finally have joined the team in Halo 2 Pony?! Tomato Fountain will survive in me, and I shall lend my skill at the game to your future endeavors in clan matches.

299.99 for the box and 59.99 for the games with a ship date of Nov 4th!

November 4th, hmm?

Wonder if 4orty2wo is still working for Microsoft...

I'm just saying, ILB ended around approximately the same time last year.

And ILB didn't really start until August.

I dunno, I think that's a stretch... it would be nice though. But I wouldn't say ILB started around August... a lot of the fun happened before August... the whole mystery just start mid-July... *shrug*

maybe 4orty2wo should start up an annual arg Smile make it a seasonal thing... MS seems to like to use early november/late october as launch dates for various things...

2002: XBox Live
2003: (I forget their release for that year, I remember it being minimal though)

Since most of us are on Xbox Live:

I'm currently moving, and need to pick a new ISP. DSL is substantially cheaper than cable. But, it is slower. Does anyone use it for Live? How's your connectivity/lag?

Not that this isn't EXACTLY the price everyone thinks it will be, but the retailers find out the official price the same day the press release comes out. Wall Mart is just basing this on rumors based on things like this in a vicious cycle.

I have 3Mbps ADSL and it seems to work reasonably well... there's a touch of lag, but not much; the connectivity bar is usually 80-90% filled and it stays green even in big games.

I would NOT recommend ISDN for Live, however, or anything much slower than the 3Mbps range.

I know. Smile

Actually, I highly doubt they'd do another XBox or Halo-related game, at least for a while.

I seem to recall Elan saying something during the PM chat along the lines of, "Yeah, this would get a lot easier if we ever did the same thing twice." The implication, obviously, being that they weren't planning to.

I'm just filled with bees nostalgia since I ducked in under the overhang of the Chinese restaurant where my payphone was to get out of the rain.

I have Qwest, VDSL I think. It's usually just fine. Sometimes I get a bit laggy, but I attribute that more to my wireless connection than to the ISP itself.

Theoretically speaking, DSL and cable are about equal, neither being really "better" than the other. Generally speaking, which one is better is determined by the speed/reliability/lag inherent in the provider, not by any limitation of the technology.

So basically, it depends. www.dslreports.com is a good resource; you should be able to look up your area and see reports from users who've had experience with either cable or DSL.
