Well it looks like the game gods heard our complaints about not being able to see those characters, because now on the www.arcanum-ultor.com site, they are larger. I have posted them below. I believe that these are Mandarin Chinese characters (mainly because Omnifam is looking for Mandarin speakers).
Does ANYONE know ANYONE who can read Mandarin?

We were just discussing this on the SD-1 boards, and Harleykins figured out they meant Reiki, which led us to: http://www.arcanum-ultor.com/reiki
Which is a whole lot of fun

A few things...
Before the interactive diddy loads there's another page that loads:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It says:
Darkness ascends unto the soul of the unwary.
Death seperates the evil and the good.
I will come for you.
And it also has this article:

It's really hard to read...I'm trying to fix it up in Photoshop...
Also the Popol Vuh is the mayan creation story...I just know about it from http://www.tropicalamerica.com

Body Found in Himalayan Glacier
Atop a glacier high on the Himalayas a team of archaeologists from Princeton University Lead by Dr. To??ong discovered something unexpected. O????? to a dig where they were excavating an ancient Badd??? village, they stumbled up on the body of a western man. it seems the man has been encased in the ice floor for over 300 years.
Recent warming in the area created an unusual amount of melt in the glacial floe leaving the body exposed. Scientists date ice floes by examining the freeze rings. Each winter, fresh layers of snow are compacted onto the ice floe. As layers are created, dirt separates them allowing scientists to count the layers much like counting the annual rings of a tree to determine its age. The layers where the body was found has been dated to 1632. Researchers have ????derred that the body might have floated or ???? over the years and are seeking other confirmation of the date. Carbon 14 dating of the fibers in the man's clothing ?? expected to confirm the date of his death.
What made the discovery so unexpected was the lack of previously documented visits from Westerners. The area is not ??? normally ???ed by tourists or mountaineering expeditions. In fact, the mountains pass where the body was found hasn't been usable since 1947 when British paramilitary ????? acquired the area during the First Indo-Pakastani War. Dr. TO???ong stated, "Finding a Western man shatters our understanding of the local history. Areas thus far removed from established trade routes were attended because of the hostile environment. Clearly, the person did not arrive by accident. We're hoping to find additional clues when we examine his body and clothing in more detail."
The body was wearing robes similar to those worn by acolytes as local Buddhist? monasteries. While searching the frozen body for identification, a satchet containing hand drawn maps and a bundle of latin texts were discovered. No other belongings or items were found on or near the body. The maps depict the local area significant differences exist. If the map is accurate, the local area but significant differences exist. If the map is accurate, the local area might have been much more popul?? than expected
The texts are remarkably well preserved considering the wet environment in which they were found. They were well wrapped in layers of ??? cloths and suffered very little damage. The best preserved of the ????? is entitled Principus Universales. The only other known copy disappear in the 19??'s during Nazi occupation of France. It was thought that the ????, attributed to 15th Century Scholar Milo Rambaldi was stockpiled with other historical ??????? by the Nazis and subsequently destroyed during Allied bombing prior to the assault on Normandy. The book matches the catalog description of the local ?????, including the embossed "Eye of Rambaldi" on the leather cover. Interestingly, a ????? with the same symbol appears on the back of the man's right hand between his thumb and forefinger.
Dr. To??ong was with the unfamiliar with the marking but said he would forward the symbol
I'm forwarding on to the proper Omnifam officials. How exciting!

Text Adventure Anybody getting anywhere in the text game? Granted I haven't put too much time into it as I'm supposed to be working, but I have managed to die twice. Once I waited in the dark too long and something bit me, then I took the eggsac up into the light and it hatched into a million little insects and they killed me.
Anybody else having any luck?
Woof.

Re: Text Adventure Okay, omegahue solved the text adventure, solution is over at SD1
It leads us to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.arcanum-ultor.com/pretznoki.php
The page that flashes quickly says the Hermann Meier has gone missing, and that his truck has been found in a River.
The text above the clipping is
I am become more monster than man
Even so, my cause is just
My conscience is black
But yours is gone.
Any thoughts about the puzzle?
