Lemme say: I'm not looking forward to "Doo, the movie" Wink

BUT!
As far as DOOM goes, Ive seen the trailer, and it looks like it has absolutely nothing to do with DOOM. THis has caused much consternation in the peoples.
But I have heard from people who have gone to screeners that there is more than meets the eye, so if you are bummer about the trailer, wait for the movie.

Yeah mixed reports about the plot.
The trailer suggests a genetic experiment gone wrong.
synopsis from IGN and universal suggest the original "teleporter tech test gone wrong"

either way I'll be seeing it.

slashotters are up in arms after finding no reference to Hell, demons or other such creepy goodness, and looking at the trailer, and the website, im thinking that they may be right. Doom just isnt doom without demons.

One of the moderators over at gamedev.net said he was privy to a screener, and that there was indeed plenty of demons and hell, and that the trailer is being misleading.

I've heard there's a very cool and lengthy "first person shooter" style sequence, so I might see it just for that.

I'm so psyched about the Doom movie, especially after seeing the trailer for this crappy movie about videogames:

Well, considering it stars some people like Danielle Fishel (who played Topanga on Boy Meets World) and Nate Richert (played Harvey on Sabrina The Teenage Witch), I'd say this is a little more than just a hobby video.

More than likely a crappy direct-to-video movie, though. ;D

1 half a second scene in that trailer shows such a sequence...
00:55 into the movie, 1st person view of what looks like a plasma gun being fired
