Ok, After a few hours of staring at this puzzle, I only have one thing to contribute. It kinda looks like this puzzle that got a lot of hype recently called "Quzzle." So I took a screen shot and rearranged the pieces to look like the solution to that puzzle. I have no idea where to go from here. The only things that I can pick up is that there is a ton of zeros, all the 09's are bold, and it looks like maybe its hex. AHHHHHH!

Also, I played around with the JavaScript for a while. The script repeatedly accesses "pretznaki2.php?rs=makako&rsrnd=111992332" (except that number is replaced by the current date and time), every 5 seconds, as an XMLHTTPRequest. The time variable appears (from a first glance) to be unimportant -- it doesn't seem to return any different values when the time parameter is left off altogether. This script is responsible for the changing hexadecimal numbers -- the script takes the response from the server (as described above) and changes certain ID numbers. It sets some of them to bold, it occasionally tries to set ID numbers that don't exist to bold non-breaking spaces. A little Perl script that repeatedly hits this server shows that there isn't a single number between 1 and 500 that doesn't get changed at one point or another. So, I'm not sure if any of that means anything to anyone, but there you go.

Mariogirl --

We had already found that pic on SD-1, never bothered to post. Sorry, but it's annoying having to repost everything you find. I'm sure you understand.

However, we haven't identified the person and Omnifam has said it doesn't know it either (we sent it to them). However he looks like an Asian monk so that goes with the whole Asian languages and the newspaper article found on A-U.

Yay! I figured out who the guy in the background is!

Here's a page that talks about how Usui came up with Reiki...

Thanks for the recap. I just joined at SD-1 so hopefully I won't repost again!

ETA: Couldn't figure out the spoiler tags for images.

It looks like there's some text that got copied in reverse in that clip (like what happens with most newspapers). I tried to clean it up to read it, but it looks like it's just some story about bridge construction or something. I thought I'd post it anyway, though, in case someone else sees something of value.

Nice catch Ursos! And congrats on getting the manuscript Smile

ETA: Here's the article that was reprinted http://www.mlive.com/news/aanews/index.ssf?/base/news-13/1121263953267860.xml&coll=2

So H. went missing before 7/13...

7/13 is four days after the datacard drop and Meier went missing 'several days ago' so that means he was captured very soon after the drop...

Okay, so it was already discovered that "IOU, USA Kim" anagrams to Mikao Usui. I just did a little research and figured out the other two anagrams:

Chujiro Hyashi - CIA Hush Hair Joy
Hawayo Takata - A Hat Away At Ok

The only problem is that the first one is missing an "A" I think. I don't know if I messed something up or if it's a PM error or what. Anyhow, they're all reiki grandmasters. Of course, I don't think this is important anymore, but just to throw out there... Maybe it's connected to the Evil Machine puzzle somehow (the anagram bit?).

[EDIT 1]: Hey! I think I thought of something! Okay, the note about the "21 square moves restores the order" came up, right? Then I was wondering what that means. Well, the large colored blocks might need to be moved, like in those little puzzles where there's a 4x4 grid of tiles with one square missing, and you slide them around until it makes a picture? Well maybe we need to slide the colored tiles around into some new order to "restore the order"? I'm printing it out (easier to move and keep track of what's going on) to see if I can figure something out, but I have NO idea what I'm looking for... Maybe once the "order" is restored, you'll have to decode the entire thing going from left to right, ignoring the individual cells? Don't ask me what to do about the bold numbers or the changing ones... You guys figure that out. Wink

[EDIT 2]: Another thought... One way to see which numbers are changing (and which aren't) is to do a "select all" on the page, and wait. "Patience is a virtue"? The numbers that DO change will become un-highlighted. The rest will. So maybe after a LONG time, only one number in each box isn't changed? Or a pattern evolves, or something. Just another thought.

About the second anagram (CIA Hush Hair Joy), the spelling of the name is actually Chujiro Hayashi. So you had the right person Ursos, just a letter missing Smile

got a new floting text at http://www.arcanum-ultor.com/pretznoki2.php and here it is:
Decompose the first of puzzle
this one doesnt seems to be a anagram but more of an instruction

one more thing.
the heading at the website is enihcam live, so maybe enihcam is somthing in a forgin lenguage like before?

edit: enihcam is an anagram of machine

edit2: in the heading enihcam live is listed like "enihcaM livE" when the large latters are at the end so maybe it should be read backwords which give us the prhase "Evil Machine".
dont know if this is related but if not it sure is funny

Your best guess for Evil Machine is that it refers to Ursos's machine.

One more thing, when people refer to <O> do they mean the eyeball between the two arrows symbol.

There are various:

21 square moves restores the order
Decompose the first of puzzle
Convert the curse to a bucket
One is fat and one is not
Dig out the dutch poison
Additive magic works well
Patience is a virtue

I'm trying to make different combination of moves, but it never arrives to 21.
However in the squares there are pairs of all the numbers (0-9) but only A-B-C-D-E-F.

I don't know what this means.
Sorry for my english, my field is pasta&pizza...
