[Question] Any word on a Halo 3 ARG ? Is there any word yet on an ARG for Halo 3?
I have become very bored since ILB ended.

I rather doubt that there will be one.

I'm with Phaedra on this. A second Halo ARG might be coming, but with the release over a year off, we won't hear about it yet. But I wouldn't put it past Bungie to do the same again. From what I know, ILOVEBEES was just a step up from the "Cortana Letters." I won't be expecting one, but if there is one, I'll be pleasently surpised.

Yea, I Love Bees just took the idea of the Cortana Letters to the next step. The Cortana Letters were leaked to a a few large fan sites in the community and weren't as in depth as ILB but all they did was give clues as to the type , and plot of Halo before the game was named and still reffered to as Blam.
I'm doubting they will do the same thing, Microsoft isn't one for originality but they are putting everything they've got into Xbox 360 and it's trailings. I'm thinking they will actually release the next book, then the game, and then the movie. I doubt too much else will happen after that.

It is worth while to note the odd little details which might dirrect someone's crazy, dark, evil speculation that a second ILB may be in the works.
Personally I don't think it will or should be done.
Off the record though i wouldn't put it past them, my reasons I have already made clear to most of you via other mediums.

They're just sore about how much greater ILB's storyline was than Halo 2's.

Well, let me rephrase: while it's possible that Microsoft might commission a Halo 3 ARG, I'm 98% sure it wouldn't be ILB2, and I'm 99% sure it wouldn't be done by 4orty2wo.

Why are you so sure that 4orty2wo wouldn't be doing an Halo 3 ARG? It seems like they put together a highly succesful game. I don't see a reason why Microsoft wouldn't look to them again. Unless, I missed something like a dispute between the two parties.

Not a dispute between the two parties -- a commitment to innovation.

Ah, ok. So that means that 4orty2wo wouldn't do it for the sake of doing something else, or Microsoft would go elsewhere to get a completely fresh and new perspective?

That means I think 4orty2wo wouldn't do it for the sake of doing something else.
I appreciate Microsoft's being willing to take a risk with ILB, but I wouldn't exactly consider them "innovative."

Well, hmm....I still wanna cross my fingers for something really cool to play before Halo 3. Maybe, I should just try and get inclined to play one of those current ARGs

There may well be "something cool" to play before Halo 3. Considering that Microsoft did the Cortana letters before Halo, and ILB before Halo 2, I'd be surprised if they didn't do something for Halo 3. I just don't think it's going to be ILB2.

Ah, first post since ILB!
Actually, some people at the forums I go to think they found something.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft recently registered this site:
Clicky (NOTE: This would lead to www.origenxbox360.com)
At first I thought it was merely something to do with the 360, until someone with to much time in the hands zoomed in on the image and found this phrase:
in hoc spatio arbor noster floruit, fecundus pomies Elysii ignoti, qui in loco ludent electi, ab Originis angelis circumdati.
That would translate in English as:
In this space our tree has flourished abundant with the unknown fruits of Elysium, who will play in the chosen place, surrounded by the angels of Origen.
Now after reading one of the offcial Halo books, The Fall of Reach I think, we know that John, AKA Spartan 117, AKA master Chief, AKA the star of halo was raised in a city called "Elysium" before he was cloned. This would indicate this has something to do with Halo, seeing as I doubt Microsoft would include that reference for no reason.
That was the first post of the thread. Since then, the text has disappeared. We know the text wasn't Photoshopped since zooming in on the countdown in the back doesn't get pixalated either, this is a Flash thing. There is nothing else of merit in the thread yet.
I wonder...
