Or did you just mean being awesome, in general? *grins*

Slayer, especially with no radar, really makes you learn to move carefully on maps.

My controllers have all vanished. I think my brother took them to his cave, but I can't be sure, because he never leaves.

Sucks-I REALLY wanted to play halo last night.

Ok, Ubercado, I just told my friend Nicole that you were helping me fix my Xbox earlier, and she loved your name, her exact words were
Quote:
x imyourgirl o: im going to name my child that
x imyourgirl o: boy or girl

That made me laugh, even though it has nothing to do with my xbox still being a dirty whore. Cable company is sending me out a new modem on Tuesday tho.

INCyr, I swear, I've had some awesome times on that map. Seriously, it can be loads of fun. I think there just weren't enough of us there to handle that much terrain, honestly.

I hatez me that map, I do. I don't think I've ever really enjoyed a game on it, and definitely not to the levels that I enjoy most of the other maps. (Terminal is another one that I'm growing to dislike.)

I think my biggest problems with it are that it's just too big. You spend forever running some place, and then you get to respawn. Maybe I'm just not good enough to do anything useful on it, but... yeah. I'd rather play on a medium-to-small map, where I can actually find people, and the flag, and get into the opposing base without feeling like any attempt I'm going to make is worthless.

Playing defense on it is a bit better, but again, it seems to me that if the opposing team manages to get the flag out of the base, there's small chance of saving it. Especially if most of your team is waiting to respawn. Where as in other maps, at least it feels like you have a chance to stop them. Maybe it's just that in other maps, the flag is captured in 10-15 seconds, as opposed to the minute(s) it takes to run the flag across the map.

Besides, who puts the gate switch on the OUTSIDE of the base? I mean, seriously, what the were the engineers thinking?

Edit: On a seperate note, I may not be on much for a while. I have guests for about a month straight, in addition to work, cons, and basic life. Hopefully I'll be on a bit (like I'm ever on anyway) but if not... I'll see you guys in the middle of september.

I love Containment, but keep in mind I also loved 50-kill team slayer on Sidewinder in the first game.

With 4 people.

Seriously, containment isn't bad at all, as long as you start with a battle rifle or carbine for your secondary gun. Makes the map much more action packed, and you spend much more time trying to keep to safer areas than charging blindly across the waste. It's also a blast for slayer with that setting.

I still declare it probably my favorite map, and one that I wish I had enough people to do games on more often. I mean, there's not many things nearly as entertaining as keeping 3 or 4 people occupied just by popping out of the tunnel, taking potshots, and running back in.

Well, we could try some creative counter strategies. For example, what if we all scooped up the weapons, left the base en masse, and camped the midfield, waiting for the flag to cross it? We could even go all the way across and camp their base. After all, we don't care if they get the flag out of the base, as long as they don't get it all the way home. How funny would that be, if the "attackers" had to storm their own base to get the flag home?

You really just have to set up a "big map CTF" style game instead of using the default. BR (or Carbine for phun) start, 1/2 time vehicle spawn with ALL vehicles possible enabled, and longer rounds (but usually drop the # of rounds to 4). I'm not sure if it's possible, but making everyone run fast might be amusing too.

Problem with camping their base is that they only have to kill each of you once, then you re-spawn back in your own base and don't have enough time to get to their base before they score. I've seen the middle defense work fairly well in the past though.
