Fair do's! That looks impressive!
So far I've resorted to have the list of cards in my profile on the new PCForum, but this should help big time with total card management, especially when more cards come out. MindCandy should do something like this, with a big database of users you can search and PM for trades.

Is this Open Source (or otherwise has the source code available)? It would certaintly take some load off of you if others could contribute patches for bugfixes and features.

are you taking fFeature requests? cos i have one. The output of cards you HAVE would be nice to have the option of taking minus one fFrom each of the counts. So you may get a report easily how many extras you have, see. That is, the program should allow the assumption we want to keep one copy of each card, and tell how many extras we have. shouldnt be all that hard, i imagine.

nice looking app Smile well done Smile great jorb Smile

tis really cool, im using it to sort through mine now!
one thing though, any chance of making spaces for the e3 and 333 cards that havent been normally released yet? or making a space for all the other cards with just their numbers maybe until the new wave comes out and then either we could self edit them with names n stuff or get an update or something. but the e3/333 one most, cos i have cards i cant put in!
cheers, good work :) apologies if im asking something ridiculously complicated, i dont know how these things work... looks pretty tho :)

rach =)

Umm, I'm not sure what you mean. At the moment, the panel for each card displays "Got it!" if you have the card and then 'how many you have - 1' for cards you can trade, and when it produces the output for cards you can trade, it again takes 1 away from the total you have of that card. And yes I am more than happy to take feature requests, (the program is pretty simple at the moment so the more features the merrier, up to a certain extent Wink ).

The way I have planned for the app to work is that once we know of a new card, I will update the card database online and the card manager will detect that a newer version of the database is available and with your permission will download the file so then you can put new cards in. The feature isn't working in this version of the app as it is still in BETA, but will be working when I release it properly.

I'll include the e3 and 333 cards in the card database when I update the app (hopefully by the end of next week at the latest)...

Damn, and I thought I had copied it down properly Laughing

At the moment it is not Open Source (partly because I havn't commented anything in the code yet, even for myself, so other people will have a hard time figuring out what all the code does). I havn't really decided if I will make it Open Source or release an API for the classes used in the app, time will tell I suppose. The scale of the development isn't too big at the moment so its no problem updating it, but once more cards get released and I start putting in some of the complex features I have planned I might have to make a decision...

Is it possible to add pictures of the cards into it? Even just small ones would be cool. Also, I like the whole cut and paste idea of the card need/trade info but is it possible to have some sort of scratchpad for the info or a plain text version of it as well as the html?

Yeah sure, I'll put those features into the next version I am working on at the moment.

excellent!
also major props for the java so it works on my mac Very Happy Very Happy
for the next version, images would be nice
Exclamation email mindcandy for permission to use higher resolution images
and arrows to scroll between the card. It is a slight annoyance to only check on five in a row and then select one farther down from the popup list.

[blah]
Oh, and is there any possibilty of a central database?
For example, I hit an "Update" button. What I have is uploaded to a central server, and I recieve a list of people with cards that I don't have that they have extras of or are willing to trade. I can view who these people are (maybe a link to their unforum profile/posts/personal blog) and email them with a trading deal.
[blah/]

Some of the features I have already planned are for users to have an account online which they could be able to access from the java app, where they would be able to update their card information online for the application to match you card needs and trades with other users needs and trades.

Nevermind Embarassed
