Xbox 360 ARG? (www.origenxbox360.com) http://www.origenxbox360.com/
Domain is registered to Microsoft.
So far it's just a tree, some odd rabbit looking thing, and a countdown which seems to be pointing to September 27th or thereabouts. I didn't see anything about this when I searched these forums.
Anybody know anything about this?
EDIT - moved to Console Gaming forum so people will stop feeling threatened and irritated and get publically angsty - SG

Where's the countdown?
All I see are the rabbit and the tree.
Nothing in the source.

It's big and in the background. It's a light gray on a white background, so if you're using a flatscreen monitor or a laptop, try tilting it a bit and you should see it.

I keep going back and forth on what I think about the Xbox 360 (despite being an Xbox fanboy), so I think I'll have to keep an eye on this one. Thanks for the heads up! I hope it turns out to be something fun...

The countdown itself is so light that I'm still not able to see it, unless I turn the background to black .
Btw, there is also a countdown.jpg , which has the word "Origen" written in white on the leaves.

OrigenXbox360.com Viral Marketing???? Microsoft Going Viral Marketing Again? OrigenXbox360.com
From PlanetXbox360.com
PlanetXbox360.com wrote:
A very strange new Xbox360 website has popped up on the internet. In fact, the only reason we know it is related to the Xbox360 is by way of the domain name, OrigenXbox360.com , and the site name "Origen Xbox 360".
The actual website itself is very simple, and more than a little strange. It depicts a countdown timer in the background (counting down from roughly 37 days, 11 hours), a tree overlaying the timer, and also the shape of a green rabbit!
So what makes this website special? Well, if you take a look at the whois details, you will see the following:
Registrant:
Microsoft Corporation
Domain Administrator
One Microsoft Way
Redmond, WA 98052
US
Email: [removed]
The registrant details, all the other domain contact details, and also the DNS servers that the site is hosted on, all match the same details for the domain xbox.com - therefore we can conclude this domain and the website are owned and hosted by Microsoft!
The only question that remains is what does it all mean? After a quick google search, it appears that "Origen" was some sort of Christian Theologist, so your guess is as good as mine. Check out the site here.
Feel free to put forth what you think it all means in this forum thread.

The guys over at PlanetXbox360 found that a new 'strange' site, www.origenxbox360.com, has been launched. It shows a tree and something that looks like a green rabbit with a counter in the background (counting down from 37 days and a few hours). Depending on what timezone you're in that's around September 27th 2005.
OrigenXbox360.com is registered under the name of Microsoft. This could be faked of course as anyone could register a domainname and put it under the name of Microsoft, but the DNS servers used are owned by Microsoft and also the same as those used by xbox.com and xbox360.com ... so this must really be a Microsoft site.
What Microsoft exactly tries to achieve here is unclear atm, but it could very well be a new viral marketing campaign (alternate-reality game) like 'I Love Bees' and 'OurColony.net'. 27th September would be a bit early for the Xbox 360 launch (expected November 4th in USA/CAN) ... but it could be the day the official launchdate will be announced or specifics about a Microsoft Studios Xbox 360 game might be released. We'll have to wait for more details to know what exactly this is about.
Origen? Origen was a Christian scholar and theologian and one of the most distinguished of the Fathers of the early Christian Church. He was born about 182, probably at Alexandria, and died at Caesarea not later than 251. His writings are important as the first serious intellectual attempt to describe Christianity.
Read More about 'Origen' on wikipedia.org.
Someone on our forums also noiticed Origen is an anagram of Ignore and origen means origin in spanish.

Well, I studied Origen for about a semester last year in my religion class. Nothing leaps to mind as to how this could be related... but I'll go over some of my old notes and pull out one of our textbooks, and see what turns up.

I highly doubt it from the whois info. Who knows though, maybe the people over at OriGen labs are using the 360 to create new and wonderous medical technology...
