Christopher Walken for President? Blurring the Line....

I found this site when looking at a friend's Live Journal entry:

http://www.walken2008.com

It looks like a web site announcing Christopher Walken running for President, showing a press release from a private conference, and information regarding Mr. Walken and his platform.

I went to WHOIS, and came up with this:

Quote:

Organization:
Christopher Walken for President
Christopher Walken for President
PO Box 46588
Los Angeles, CA 90013
US
Phone: 213-985-1908
Email: campaignSPLATwinwithwalken.com

Domain servers in listed order:

DNS25.REGISTER.COM 216.21.234.83
DNS26.REGISTER.COM 216.21.226.83

If you call the number, there is a recording there that says:
Quote:

"Thank you for calling Walken 2008 campaign.

You may find more information about us on our website at walken2008.com.

At this time, our volunteer staff is very small and we are unable to respond to every message we recieve. Your call is important to us, and we are happy to hear from you.

Please leave your name and short message after the tone. Or email us at campaignSPLATwalken2008.com"

Also, there is a different email address in the WHOIS: campaignSPLATwinwithwalken.com.

Now, *this* leads to http://www.winwithwalken.com , which is a blog site where this guy is talking about "getting in contact with Walken's base camp" and how his team is doing a "horrible horrible job" at press relations. So he's talking on this site like he isn't directly connected to it, yet it is this site given as the contact email domain for http://www.walkenforpres.com.

Both http://www.walkenforpres.com and http://www.walken2008.com redirect to the same place.

Getting a WHOIS on winwithwalken.com gives this:

Domain servers in listed order:
NS1.LOLERSKATES.COM
NS2.LOLERSKATES.COM

Calling this contact number gets a voice recording of a guy saying "You have the wrong number" and then an automated attendant saying "To record a message, press 1 or stay on the line".

And so now we find that it is "Brandon Cook" who has set up the whole thing.

There was a place on the site to sign up for a newsletter. I did not receive a reply back.

Smells like an elaborate hoax.. Probably some people with free time on their hands.

As always, I hope I'm wrong...

Trust me guys, it's Gen[M]ay. Those guys are insanely stupid.

ns1.lolerskates.com is a dead giveaway

However, Gen[M]ay is being disbanded at the moment, so if there is any real progress with this, then maybe I'm wrong. But given their extreme fascination with Christopher Walken and stupid catchphrases like LOLERSKATES, my vote is for them.

Ah, Evidence time
The whois listed above is hosted on lolerskates.com, the owner of which has www.moose.cc , looking up his name and information gives Mooseontheloose as his name for many forums, one of which is a frequent poster at Gen[M]ay

Yeah, I find myself wishing I was wrong. Being right is disappointing. I also think it's sad that people have too much time on their hands and that they wish that hard for someone better to be in place of Bush. We really are drowning in his oil squandering. Statistically we aren't going to have ANY oil in 20-30 yrs time. Period. America's going to look even worse when that hits. Very Happy Happy times.

Ok, we've established it's a hoax. For some reason this thread is drawing some nasty comments, so I'm going to Locky! it for now.
